[Skip to Content] CAMPBELL COUNTY SCHOOLS REOPENING PLAN You will find a questionnaire linked below here that will allow you to apply for the Virtual Learning Option: What is virtual learning? Virtual learning is a mixed synchronous (real time) and asynchronous educational delivery system where students will learn remotely through videos, assignments, and other tasks. There will be a teacher assigned to the virtual learning course to communicate with and to help the student. How long do I have to commit to doing virtual?Families choosing the virtual option must commit for at least a semester. (Why? We are going to have to staff this with our existing teachers and configure it around our students who are going to virtual over traditional schooling. This creates a situation where we have to ask for a commitment for planning purposes.) Will everyone be accepted?We will accept students with qualifying factors (students who are immunocompromised or have other morbidity indicators, or students who live with those with the same). After we have accepted all of those students, a determination will be made based on space. What is the time commitment?By state law, students are required to do 6.5 hours of work a day. It will vary from day to day, but that is basic expectation. What if we don t have internet access?Unfortunately, participating in this program will require high-speed internet. We realize it isn t available everywhere. When will we know something? This application will close at midnight on July 31, 2020. You will know something by the following week.
