Derek Lemieux Derek Lemieux brings a diverse and collaborative background to the role of Director, International Education at Bow Valley College. View Bio Meet Our Staff Derek Lemieux brings a diverse and collaborative background to the role of Director, International Education at Bow Valley College. Derek s expertise in mentorship, academic advising, and cross-cultural competency have assisted in developing successful projects, teams, and relationships in his more than 10 years of experience with international teams. Derek has worked collaboratively with senior administrators at all levels to be responsive to opportunities and changing market demands by launching new products and services, providing mobility opportunities for learners and staff, managing international development projects, and supporting skilled interculturally competent graduates. Derek completed a Business Administration diploma at Algonquin College, a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Ottawa and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at Royal Roads University. He is also TESOL certified and an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator.Most recently, Derek served as the Director, International at Coast Mountain College in British Columbia where he built an international education department from the ground up. Additionally, he also served as a mentor for the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) where he mentored the 2018 BCCIE Rising Star in International Education award recipient after winning the same award in 2017.
