Description:

“Our 1632 property owners create and share in the pristine community we call Elkhorn. Our mission is to maintain common areas, recreational facilities and vast open space in the highest of standards; to insure our community properties are developed in a manner appreciated by all our owners; to care for and prudently administer our Association financial resources; and to ensure compliance with the Master Declarations that governs and brands Elkhorn the place to be in Sun Valley.” Elkhorn AmenitiesElkhorn is a unique community that offers its owners top amenities for any active lifestyle.See what this wonderful place has to offer you, your family and friends. 1 year ago President's Message Welcome to the nonstop snow of the winter of 2019. Where did our “Sun” in Sun Valley go for the month of February? If the weather outside was frightful, the fire at a neighborhood gathering at the Harker Center in mid-February was truly delightful. You may have noticed, the photo is different than the usual presidential mugshot. This photo shows a gathering of over 40 of our regular Mountain Rides red route bus skiers. I am hidden in the back behind the more photogenic members of the group. Day in and day out, the stalwart red bus faithful head to Baldy starting their day with lively conversation followed by turns on the mountain. The Mountain Rides winter bus service to Baldy and Ketchum is a great community asset. If you are not already a rider, please consider giving it a try. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors and forego the walk from the parking area to the lodge. The bus of course gets priority curbside service right at the foot of the bridge at River Run. This gathering is just one of the many opportunities we have to mix and mingle with others in our Elkhorn neighborhood. I would like to thank all of you who took time out of your busy schedule to attend the Elkhorn homeowners meeting in January. It was great to witness such a good turn out and watch friends and neighbors reconnect. The staff always puts together a comprehensive agenda that I hope you all found interesting and informative. Please read the articles in this newsletter carefully. There is a lot going on both with the City of Sun Valley and our Elkhorn community. You will find that even now, buried in snow, staff is already focusing on and organizing the popular summer community programs and events so many of us have come to enjoy. In closing, I would like to again thank former board members, Harry Griffith and Nancy Auseklis for all their efforts over the past 6 years. A lot goes into this volunteer job and they went way over the top in support of our community. When you see them around town, please thank them for all the work they did and continue to do on our behalf. Our new board members, Clark Furlow and Bob Diercks have hit the ground running. Both have agreed to co-chair the water committee. It’s hard to believe with all the snow this year that water usage is an issue, however, long term it’s at the top of the list. I am confident we are in good hands. Enjoy the longer days and the last of the winter season. Spring will be here before we know it! ... See more View on facebook We greatly appreciate the opportunity we had to host a barbecue at the Harker Center for our first ever Military Family Camp. The facility was a wonderful location for families to come together as a unit while honoring the tremendous sacrifices our military families have made for our freedom. The event was a tremendous success with five families who were able to reconnect and strengthen their family bonds. Thank you again for your gracious contribution to this important event. – Respectfully, Elkhorn Owners, Holley and Chris duPont and the Higher Ground Team “My family has been coming to Sun Valley for 20 years.  We chose to live in Elkhorn not just for its distinct beauty but also for its amazing amenities in a safe environment.  Our sons are free to bike, hike, play tennis, swim, fish and ski just out of our back door.  We all count the days until we’re back at our home in Elkhorn.” Homeowner Angela Mabon Site by ClearMindGraphics
