(read more)Join NowPresident's MessageDear Member, The Academy of Operative Dentistry is now entering its 50th year in existence.  The Academy has survived for the past fifty years due to the dedication and loyalty of our Membership to the organization.  The Academy of Operative Dentistry will survive the COVID-19 pandemic and hopefully continue on for another 50 years.  The AOD executive council and I would like to invite you to continue your membership in the AOD and join us for our exciting virtual 2021 Program.  Our six Essay Presenters will provide a variety of topics with a focus on up to date evidence based scientific research, trends and clinical techniques in Operative dentistry.             In consideration of the current global pandemic, the restrictions on gatherings set in place by the office of the governor of Illinois and our general concern for the health and well-being of our members, the Academy of Operative Dentistry executive council has unanimously elected to have the 50th meeting of the AOD, February 2021, held virtually.*  This decision was not taken lightly as one of the biggest perks of membership is the camaraderie, the collegial friendships and the interactions with mentors and the great minds in dentistry, that develop at our meetings lunches, and social events.  This switch to a virtual lecture series is planned to affect this year only, with a return to our normal in-person meetings in Chicago, February 2022.    Our exciting virtual seminar series will be held on Saturday and Sunday morning February 20-21, 2021 from 10am – 2:30pm CST and can be viewed from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.  Lectures will remain engaging, interactive and will be delivered by some of the world’s foremost leaders in dentistry.  This is a great opportunity to renew your membership, sign up for the first time, or share our wonderful Academy with a colleague.  Do not skip out on this year, please continue your support of the Academy of Operative Dentistry!            The AOD is committed to science and practice-based continuing education without corporate influence.  It is my desire for every dentist who attends our seminar series that they will pick up some pearls to bring back to their practices so they can provide the highest level of care possible to their patients.  I look forward to another great year!   Kyle S.
