What is the WTFDA?

The Worldwide TV-FM DX association is the only Radio hobby club in North America that caters to the TV and FM DXer, as well as those who DX 30-50mhz utilitiesand Weather Radio. The term "DX" means "distant reception", and those who "DX" look for weak, distant radio and television signals, with an eye to logging as many of these distant signals as possibleor obtaining the most distant reception of a given station. TV and FM signals normally travel in line-of-sight mode, no more than 50 to 100 miles from their transmitter towers. DXers love to push the reception boundaries of stations by hundreds or thousands of miles using their skills, better antennas and equipment, and knowing when conditions are ripe for it.

DXing is a hobby that one can do by himself, but many of us like to share our logs and catches with others, and this is where the WTFDA comes in. WTFDA is a group of around 200 folks who share the same hobby. When you join the WTFDA, you immediately know that you are in good company with others who understand you. If you're just starting out, we'll guide you along. If you're an old timer, we'll help you get back into the groove. Our mission is to hear and see new distant stations and above all, have fun doing it.

The WTFDA publishes a monthly club magazine for our members. It's called the VHF-UHF Digest and it contains both television and FM radio facilities changes, format/slogan changes, feature articles and DX reports.

The WTFDA also operates an email list, a forumand a group on Facebook. The club is also the owner and operator of the WTFDA FM Station Database ,which is a valuable resource for FM Dxers in the Northern hemisphere that lists all FM stations in the USA,Canada, Mexico and many Caribbean countries.

This is a collection of VHF-UHF Digest issues from 1968 through the present. All are pdfs. Many issues from 1968-1975 have been added and those prior to May 1972 are the old memeographed issues. We still have a few missing issues. If you have them, let us know. Additional scanned items can also be found in the 60s & 1970s section. Note: most recent issues may not be available.
