Welcome to Pelee Island
On behalf of Council and the staff of the Township of Pelee Island, I would like towelcome you to the southernmost inhabited place in Canada. The Pelee Township consists of nine islands in the western basin of Lake Erie, Pelee Island being the largest (19 km by 6 km). Ohio is our neighbour to the south.
Our location provides residents and visitors with a rare Carolinian forest. We have two Provincial Nature Reserves and multiple conservation areas on the island, each teeming with birds and rare species. The island, surrounded by Lake Erie offers great swimming, fishing and boating.
Enjoy the serenity, beauty and quiet of our friendly island.
