Dr. Lowell Greib MSC ND CISSN

An internationally sought-after thought leader in the area of Sport Therapy, Dr. Lowell Greib is an accomplished athlete, speaker, professor, and practitioner. Dr. Greib raced as a professional ultra-distance mountain biker while completing both his degree in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology, and his graduate research in analytical chemistry at the University of Waterloo. During his 4 years of medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, he founded (and subsequently directed) the Sports Medicine Program for the college, now widely accepted as the gold standard for naturopathic Sport Therapy training across Canada.

Dr. Greib continues to lecture at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, National University of Natural Medicine, and the University of West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados. For the last decade, Dr. Greib has served as Medical Director for the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon and The Limberlost Challenge Ultra Trail race.  Upon his recent completion of a 9 year term with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors we was awarded the Dr. Verna Hunt award for his exemplary service to his profession and service, including 5 years as Chair of the Board.

Dr. Katherine Ahokas is a highly esteemed lecturer, curriculum developer, and sport therapy practitioner, whose professional expertise has been sought by educational institutions across Canada. Dr. Ahokas competed at the National Level for British Columbia’s Provincial Soccer Team. While completing her degree in Biochemistry from the University of Victoria played varsity soccer. It was during her 4 years of medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Ahokas trained for her first competitive marathon. Dr. Ahokas has previously developed Sport Performance Nutrition Curriculum for Camosun College in Victoria, BC, and currently lectures at Georgian College, teaching the “Clinical Diagnosis and Medical Terminology” course that she developed.

Dr. Ahokas continues to compete in both local and international level events, including the Phoenix, Victoria, and Boston Marathons. She currently acts as coach for the Muskoka Algonquin Runners.

Dr. Adele Clark was born and raised in Huntsville and has since returned to provide healthcare and continue her professional journey in her hometown. Adele earned her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Lakehead University and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College where she received recognition for her leadership and clinical excellence.

Dr. Adele spent five years practicing in Seattle in a multidisciplinary clinic that specializes in treating injury, restoring function and optimizing health. Post graduate studies in advanced soft tissue rehabilitation and functional medicine coupled with her expertise in musculoskeletal and neurological health have allowed her to practice medicine with a more holistic approach. Dr. Adele puts her patients at the center of their care and encourages them on their journey to better health.

Adele has an affinity to empower women of all ages and abilities to build consistency, improve capacity and find joy in activity. She enjoyed competitive hockey throughout her life, and was a key component of both her OFFSA and OWHA qualifying teams. Adele is inspired to return to her roots in local women’s hockey both as a player in the MWHL and a coach for the High School women’s team. When she isn’t working with patients, you can find her expending creative energy in her wood shop or hiking throughout the beautiful Muskoka region with her dog.

Matthew’s attention to detail and aptitude for human movement led him to studying Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa.  His passion for sport stemmed from his time between the posts as a hockey goalie.  With his increased desire for better performance he focussed attention to methodologies that can be utilized in strength and conditioning. He completed his Honours Thesis studying the ‘Effects of Attentional Focus on Force Production and Bar Trajectory in the Conventional Deadlift’. Since graduation Matthew has become a Regulated Health Professional as a registrant with the College of Kinesiologist of Ontario.  Matthew is the premier Recovery Coach at The SportLab’s RecoverySuite – a world leading recovery ecosystem designed to improve physical, metabolic and neurologic recovery in active individuals.

Following her graduation from St. Francis Xavier University with her Bachelor of Arts in Human Kinetics (minor Psychology), CJ moved from her Dartmouth home in Canada’s East Coast to begin anew in Muskoka. An avid canoeist and softball player, CJ’s passion for active living led her to complete her Pilates Mat Certification from the Equinox Pilates Training Institute and begin teaching weekly classes. She enjoys the unique strength and flexibility that Pilates and yoga provide in combination with her continued practice with the Muskoka Algonquin Runners. CJ is the first point of contact for all of The SportLab’s patients. She is known for her enthusiastic, friendly attitude, and attention to detail. In June of 2018, CJ completed her first-ever triathlon, and placed first overall in her age category.

Mayor’s Bike Ride – Wednesday, June 15th

In 2015, The SportLab and the Town of Huntsville, worked together to organize the first Mayor’s Bike Ride. Since then, the event has continued to grow. Finally back after a couple years, the 2022 edition will mark its 6th anniversary and once again, The SportLab is proud to support this community event.

On Wednesday, June 15th, Mayor Karen Terziano, along with a group of experienced cyclists, will lead a Social Ride through the streets of Huntsville. The 12km Ride will start and finish at River Mill Park in Downtown Huntsville. The Ride will begin at 6:30pm.

ALL registrants will receive a FREE commemorative Mayor’s Bike Ride water bottle.

The Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride is FREE, it’s FUN and it’s FAMILY FRIENDLY. So come out and join the Mayor to experience the ease and joy of living a healthy, active lifestyle.

Kid’s Bike Rodeo – June 2nd

Kid’s Bike Rodeo is turning 5 in 2022! We are excited to get back out there and get on our bikes. The SportLab, the Town of Huntsville, Ontario Provincial Police, Kiwanis, Fowler Construction and Muskoka Bicycle Pro Shop have joined forces to present this fun and educational bike clinic focused on teaching kids the basics of cycling safely, all in a non-threatening environment.

The Kids’ Bike Rodeo is appropriate for kids aged 4 to 7.  

There are FOUR half hour time slots available for registration:

4:30 – 5:00 pm5:00 – 5:30 pm5:30 – 6:00 pm6:00 – 6:30 pm

Participants will go through 6 stations geared to helping them improve their cycling knowledge and skills.
