Products & Services

The main functions of the Guernsey Registry are to examine and store information on various registers as required under Guernsey legislation. The Registry is required to make some of this information available for public inspection.

Notices

This section includes notices from the Registrar in accordance with the Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008, organised by year and month. Any person who is directly affected by a decision of the Registrar may apply to the Royal Court under Section 511 of the law for an order that the decision be set aside or modified.

This site provides information on the various registers maintainedby the Registry as required under Guernsey legislation.

In addition, this sitepublishes notices in accordance with the Companies (Guernsey) Law 2008 and provides guidance noteson the administration oflimited companies andlimited partnerships, foundations, limited liability partnerships,Guernsey Finance funding submissions, recognised auditor registrations and using the online services portal.

The Charities etc. (Guernsey and Alderney) Ordinance, 2021

The Charities etc. (Guernsey and Alderney) Ordinance, 2021 came into force on 29 April 2022.

This means that charities and NPOs in Guernsey and Alderney are now subject to some new or enhanced requirements. The various legal requirements set out in the Ordinance and regulations will be phased in to allow time for awareness and adaptations to be made where necessary.

A timeline of the changes is available here, and further details and guidance can be found in the charities section of the website. Further guidance and document templates will be added in due course.

Civil penalties for failure to file company annual validations

Following the coming into force of The Companies (Registrar) (Fees and Penalties) Regulations, 2020 on 1 January 2021, a company which failedto file an annual validation by 28February2022was liable to a civil penalty.

The civil penalty replaced the previous system of late filing fees.

Company annual validations - to be filed by 28 February 2022

All Guernsey companies must file an annual validation with the Registrybetween1January and 28 February 2022(except companies incorporated in December 2021).

The annual validation containsthe details of the company as they were on 31 December 2021. All annual validation submissions must bemade online atwww.greg.gg.

Where a company files its annual validation late, or fails to file an annual validation at all, the company will be guilty of an offence and will be liable to a civil penalty.

Charity and NPO annual renewals - to be filed by 28 February 2022

All Guernsey registered charities and non profit organisations (NPOs) must file an annual renewal with the Registry by 28 February 2022.

Renewal forms were posted to the contact address for all charities and NPOs during December. If you have not received your renewal form or would prefer an electronic copy please contact us by email at enquiries@guernseyregistry.com.

Failure to file a renewal can result in the charity/NPO being struck off the register.

Data protection registration reminder

The Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA) would like to remind organisations established in the Bailiwick that work with information about people ('personal data') to complete anew registration, orrenew their existing registrationand pay an appropriate fee by 28 February 2022.
