Also note that the balls and stories are being uploaded, if you do not find something, visit our site later.)
PartnersPeter Pesti (the founder of worldcupballs.info) has developed outstanding relationships with many organisations, brands and media during the past decade. Some of them bought balls from us for display purposes or advertisements, while others used Peter’s professional photos and our information about balls. Here is a short list of our most known partners below:
FIFAEdelThe New York TimesCanonAdidasDeutsches Fussball MuseumBudweiserPeléFC Bayern Munchen FIFAThe new FIFA Museum opened on 28th February, 2016 in Switzerland. As a result of our cooperation we supplied high quality photos of various balls (taken by Peter Pesti), which are still in use on interactive displays. We also provided rare sport newspapers from the middle of the XX. century for the museum. And what makes us really proud is that the museum bought our pre-adidas World Cup match ball set (1930-1966) and built a decorative showcase for our balls along with the adidas World Cup models. As for the future, we will do our best to assist the FIFA museum in any case where they need our cooperation.
EDELEDEL is a large book publisher house located in Germany. They contacted our website in the summer of 2015 and offered their partnership in order to create a book about footballs. As a result of our cooperation they used the same photographs of balls for the book, which you can see on this website. The copyright owner of the photos is Peter Pesti, who designed and took the photos for both the book and this website at his own expense. He photographed over 500 balls in 7 countries (England, France, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Spain and Switzerland) from which you can see around 120 images in the German edition of the book. At this moment we are looking for foreign publishers, who would translate the book into English and/or Spanish to reach many more football fans worldwide. If you are interested in working with us on this project, do not hesitate to contact us.
The New York TimesThe New York Times got in contact with us before the 2014 FIFA World Cup and asked our help for their article about the evolution of the World Cup balls. We provided a lot of information and supplied photos of World Cup balls for both the journal and their online article. The photos were taken by Peter Pesti directly for The New York Times and are not visible on our recent site any more.
On top of this, one of our registered collector friend, Fabian Flores granted his original 1930 T-model World Cup ball for the animation of the online article. (We all at worldcupballs.info do our best to assist the needs of the media and help with pleasure when our service or expertise is needed.)
CanonWhile Peter Pesti was experimenting the setup and design for the equally photographed balls, Canon joined his project by supplying various equipment (lenses, camera bodies, flashes) for the test shots. Peter received serious price reduction from the company and choose the following gear for his photographs: a Canon 5DsR full frame camera body, a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS II USM lens and Canon 600 EX RT flashes.) Canon also participated as a sponsor of Peter’s photo exhibition during the 2016 Euro Cup, where 56 photos of various balls were displayed in the most popular shopping mall of Hungary (the WestEnd City center in Budapest) in historical timeline. This photo exhibition hit the Hungarian media; it was published in newspapers, online news portals and the National Television in Hungary. If you wish to organize a photo exhibition from Peter’s photographs of balls, do not hesitate to contact us.
AdidasThe owner of worldcupballs.info, Peter Pesti has a great and two sided relationship with Adidas, which includes sharing plans for the future, supporting and assisting each other’s projects. Peter visited the Headquarters of the company many times in the past, sometimes from his own will to present new ideas for the sporting brand or due to the invitation of the company. His last visit took place in 2015, when Peter photographed the balls of Adidas Archieve for his book and this website. Peter has very good relationship with the Hungarian subsidiary of the company as well, they not only sponsored Peter’s football photo exhibition in Budapest but participated in common football related events and media appearances.
Deutsches Fussball MuseumThe new German Football Museum in Dortmund (Deutsches Fussball Museum) ordered a set of our pre-adidas World Cup match balls (1930-1966). In 2014 however, Germany won the World Cup so the museum converted the room (in which the World Cup balls were supposed to be displayed) into the memory of the Nationalelf’s Brazilian victory. At this moment our balls are not displayed in the museum until they find space for them. Apart from this, the museum has built great relationship with Peter Pesti and invited him for the special preview of the museum that was held one week before the grand opening in October, 2015.
Our 1950 World Cup ball in the commercial of Budweiser
BudweiserBudweiser bought an 1950 World Cup ball from us for the commercials of their official 2014 World Cup campaign. They published their advertisements with various lengths but our ball appears in all of them. Check out this video on the left and watch our ball to show up at 0:11 minutes.
PeléWe supplied a large amount of balls from our pre-adidas World Cup match ball set (1930-1966) for Pelé’s management so that he can sign them for his fans. The owner of worldcupballs.info, Peter Pesti also assisted and worked together on a project with Pelé’s management. In honour of his efforts, Peter got invited to London where he could meet Pelé in person as a VIP guest of his European tour in 2016. (Pelé was very kind with Peter during the event and proved that he is not only one of the best sportsmen of all time but a modest and friendly gentleman, as well.)
FC Bayern MunichWe are proud to report that even FC Bayern Munich has bought our pre-adidas World Cup match ball set (1930-1966) for the museum of the club (called Erlebniswelt). They did not put our balls on display but they created a footage about them and visitors can check out our balls on a video screen in the Allianz Arena.
