Our Story—From 2014–2019, we set out to create something bold, a thoughtful response to big questions about the future of Cincinnati. Specifically, we were wondering who was investing in the next generation of leadership in our community—those people who would care for our city and carry it into the future—and the role for philanthropy in that. People's Liberty was our response to that question—a 5-year effort that explored how one family foundation can change a community by awarding grants directly to people.There are many stories and lessons to share from this 5-year period that we’ve attempted to capture on this website. Though the experiment is officially over, we hope the spirit of People’s Liberty lives on for decades to come in people like you—those who wish to play a part in shaping the city we all long to see. Something tells us it will.Lastly, we’d like to offer a final note of gratitude to each and every person who dared to dream a little bigger with us. Our People–In five years, People’s Liberty awarded grant dollars to 120 Cincinnatians and employed 30 emerging-career individuals who worked with our core team for 3-months at a time.
