Description:

Our shared vision: For each and every student to achieve their maximum potential. A warm welcome to Hazelwick School. I hope that you will find this website useful and informative. The intention is to give you a flavour of what Hazelwick is like as a school and community. More about usMonday, 20 Jul 2020Virtual Art ExhibitionLockdown has been a strange time for all of us, but through it all, Hazelwick students have been creating imaginative and refined artwork for their classes at home.To celebrate the achievements of our art students this term, we have curated an online exhibition of their work, which you can view through the link on this page. The work is divided into sections by year group and subject, with the lower years at the beginning, and senior years work (up to year 11) organised on the lower page. The work, as you will see, ranges from the recreation of famous artworks with food, traditional oil paintings, collages made from plastic bags, and much more. Year 9, 10 and 11 students have followed schemes of work that focus on themes and building skills for coursework, whilst KS3 classes have had the opportunity to complete one off lessons each week, which introduced them to various skills, and brand new ways of making artwork. We in the art department are very proud of the work produced by our students this term, and we hope you enjoy looking through it all as much as we did! To all of our fantastic art students, well done, and stay creative. Enjoy! - Hazelwick Art Departmenthttps://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNSLdMNbvn99__rZ2zfApAnOuC4cLD3OX7ABhz16Bu_7RSDhbfdLaBC1s-6l92hJA?key=TEFlalJPVGJpTGI4VG93UWdQZ3duWTdUWkJHZnBRRead MoreWednesday, 22 Jul 2020Heads of Year 7 - First Year at HazelwickDear Year 7 Students,The first day in September 2019, where we all met on the playground and everyone s blazer was a touch too big, feels like a long time ago. We could not have predicted how much would happen in your first year at secondary school. Do you remember the first people you talked to and lining up with your form teacher? The walk to your form room must have felt daunting but you all soon learnt your way around with the help of the 6th form students (thank you to them). Very soon it will be your turn to help the new Year 7 students find their way around and support them when they need a hand. Our first year together has seen so many success stories from sporting achievements to music performances through to excellence in class and team players at Calshott. Most importantly we have known you all to be kind friends to one another. It has been a different last term, of course, where we missed out on playing on the field at lunchtime and taking part in our first sports day together but we will soon be back and we cannot wait to see you all thrive in Year 8. You have shown great dedication and resilience to your lessons at school and at home -we could not be prouder. Have a lovely summer holiday and see you in Year 8.Best WishesHeads of Year 7To see this article in full, with accompanying imagery, see page 14 of the July edition of the Headteacher s Newsletter.Read MoreWednesday, 22 Jul 2020Heads of Year 9 Photography ClubThe Heads of Year 9 team launched the Hazelwick Yellow PhotographyClub on 27th April to help ease the frustration of lockdown, learn new skills and encourage students to reconnect with each other. The aim of the club is to help students improve their photographic skills using phones and mobile devices. We will also cover videography and post weekly challenges in the form of photographic assignments. We live stream on YouTube every Monday at 15.00 hrs, and have shared hints and tips on Composition and Lighting, and celebrated the wonderful images of our Year 9 students. So far, over 60 students in Year 9 have joined Hazelwick Yellow, but there is always room for more members and they should email: hoy9@hazelwick.org.uk for more details. Students have been busy taking photos, uploading them to the group page and celebrating the achievements of others with the yellow ribbon. We run regular competitions with prizes and challenges each week. I have included some of the images taken by the students in response to the Composition and Lockdown challenges.Read MoreTuesday, 30 Jun 2020Heads of Year 7...Year 7 Challenge Task - An Act of KindnessWell done to all the Year 7 students who took part in week one of the challenge tasks, it was so heart-warming, but not surprising, to hear of all the kind activities the students were getting involved with.Read MoreTuesday, 30 Jun 2020Careers CaféJacobs Student experience of a virtual work placement (by Mansi Patel, Year 11)Read MoreMonday, 04 May 2020Video from the HeadteacherClick the link to view a video from the Headteacher with a message of thanks and support to everyone in our school community.https://youtu.be/Fc6P4jz1oxERead More Wednesday, 22 Jul 2020@HazelwickSchoolThe latest edition of the Head's newsletter is now available to download on our website: https://t.co/pEJVpaRp9gMonday, 20 Jul 2020@HazelwickSchoolUnfortunately we haven't been able to arrange our annual Art Photography Show in school this year, so we've created an online gallery instead, so that you can still see some of the fantastic and high quality work of our students.
