BMX Pro For A Week BMX Pro for a Week Thanksgiving Camp September 18, 2021 Admin

Our team is looking forward to kicking-off a 4-day BMX Pro for a Week Thanksgiving Camp (November 22, 23, 24 and 26) at San Diego BMX! Camp will run daily from 9:00am 3:00pm. We will cover all fundamentals of BMX Race along with bike and street safety, braking, gates, passing techniques and so much more.

Our team has partnered with both the CDC and American Camp Association on specific health and safety protocols to ensure our campers stay healthy! We have successfully run 12 weeks of our camp during the pandemic and have NOT had one incident or outbreak. We follow the guidelines closely and make adjustments necessary to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We have many fun on-bike activities planned as well as new giveaways from our team sponsors. Reserve your youngster’s spot now as space is limited.

Racing news Alec Bob, USA Pump Track National Champion September 7, 2021 Admin

This past weekend was the final round of the USA Pump Track Championships in Springdale, Arkansas. Our guy Alec Bob was back after a little time-out due to a concussion sustained a few months ago and made the trip out from Texas with the plan of continuing to ease back into the swing of things.

A great weekend, Alec grabbed the win and with that the overall title of USA Pump Track National Champion for the year. Super stoked for Alec and with that he is headed out to the Pump Track Worlds in Lisbon, Portugal.

BMX Pro For A Week 2021 BMX Pro For A Week Summer Camp Wrap-Up August 20, 2021 Admin

We just wrapped up another successful summer of our BMX Pro for a Week Camp. Big thanks to Tyler and Kas of San Diego BMX for making it so easy to work with them and to run the entire 6 weeks at their track. They have invested greatly in improvements and it shows. San Diego BMX also generously donated two 1 year complimentary USA BMX Memberships to our campers each week!

We are also grateful to Haro, Source BMX, WD-40, 100%, ODI, Tioga, Dvide, Bill and James Barrowcliff for preparing a custom award for our camper of the week and shipping to the U.S.A. from the U.K. for presentation, and Toby Wells Foundation for continuing to underwrite many of our amenities while supporting our grassroots efforts of getting kids outside and on bikes.

Our growth has been exponential and we owe much of that to our campers! Yes, we have more than a 85% retention rate of campers and they have helped us in spreading the word by bringing siblings, cousins, friends and neighbors. We have had the most successful year to-date. So, we had to step up the giveaways and other fun activities to thank our regulars and our newcomers. In addition to shirts, hats, posters, tires, grips, and 100% jerseys and pants from our team co-sponsors, we also gifted a number of brand new Haro bikes. Toby Wells Foundation, a local non-profit committed to helping youth and animals while honoring Toby Wells, sponsored visits from the Kona Ice truck to keep the kids cool with a sweet treat, along with sponsoring our Character Counts Awards to encourage positive behavior in campers, for example, helping and encouraging others, being a good listener and most improved. On the Spot Photography made a trip out weekly to capture individual photos of our campers that were printed and placed into frames for pick up on Friday. And, to top it off we wrapped up the last day with a pizza party! So many great things!

I am grateful to our team of coaches most notably, Rylinde, Maddie, Greyson, Isaiah, Aiden and Sacha for showing up and giving it what they’ve got to ensure a positive experience for our campers. Also, thankful that we kept all our kids safe and healthy.

BMX Pro for a Week SUMMER Camp REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Camps will run daily from 9:00am-3:00pm at San Diego BMX located at 3170 Armstrong Street, San Diego, CA. 92111. Camp fee per week is $300 per camper or $250 per camper for siblings. Fees include use of bikes, helmets and gloves along with lots of giveaways from our team sponsors. Please note there will be no holds for registration without payment. We have a 10 day (prior to camp start date) notice for cancellation for a full refund.

BMX Pro For A Week BMX Pro for a Week Spring Break Camp 2021 February 3, 2021 Admin

Our BMX Pro for a Week Spring Break Camp kicks off Monday, April 12 16, at San Diego BMX daily from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We cover the full 101 of BMX Race, our campers learn about bike and street safety, how to conduct a bike safety check, technical skills on and off the track, gates and for those interested, simulated races.

We have partnered with both the CDC and the American Camp Association to develop protocols to keep our campers safe and healthy. Campers have temperature checks on arrival and any camper with a temperature of 100 or greater will not be admitted to camp. We respectfully ask parents to KEEP SICK CHILDREN HOME. We do our best to socially distance campers. We have additional hand washing stations and hand sanitizer available everywhere at camp. We have successfully run 10 weeks of camp with ALL kids staying healthy.

In light of the craziness we have all been living through this past year, experts are sharing more than ever that physical activity is vital to our children’s wellbeing, allows our children to have a better outlook on life by building confidence, managing anxiety and depression, and increasing self esteem and cognitive skills. Our team is geared up and ready to deliver a fun filled week for our campers with loads of new giveaways and prizes. Fee is $300 per camper or $250 for siblings.

Our first-ever Dale Holmes Racing Beginner’s League, in conjunction with San Diego BMX, kicks off November 3rd! This one-of-a-kind league offers kids an opportunity to hone their BMX skills while also getting exercise, building confidence and learning how to navigate the BMX race scene. Sessions run on both Tuesdays and Saturdays. Participants must be able to ride a bicycle without training wheels. Space is limited.

Grateful to have wrapped up our Haro BMX Pro for a Week Summer camp 2020 Season. We had no idea what to expect. This entire year has been defined by uncertainty. However, we partnered earlier this year in anticipation of challenges with both the CDC and American Camp Association to develop specific protocols to host camp while also keeping campers safe and healthy. Im happy to report we did just that! We successfully ran 7 weeks of Haro BMX Pro for a Week camp straight at San Diego BMX. Our campers and their parents were ecstatic they could get out for fresh air and exercise. We did it all without a single Covid incident. Thankful to our team, Tyler and Kasandra Brown of San Diego BMX and our campers parents for their trust in us. This summer wasnt so bad after all. Stay-tuned as were partnering with San Diego BMX on a Beginners League and other Fall programming to be announced soon. Cheers.
