Colorado Supreme Court
The Colorado Supreme Court is the state's highest court. The Court has exclusive jurisdiction over the practice of law in Colorado.

Presiding Disciplinary Judge
The Presiding Disciplinary Judge presides over formal attorney discipline complaints filed by the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, among other duties.

Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline
The Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline consider complaints alleging misconduct by judges. Complaints about magistrates and municipal court judges are filed with the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel.

Revised rule on fee agreements

Effective January 1, 2022, the Supreme Court amended Colo. RPC 1.5(b) and its comment with new provisions about fee agreements, which in most instances must include the scope of representation.

Court adopts new requirement for Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity ("EDI") CLE

The Supreme Court has amended C.R.C.P. 250.2 and related rules to require two credit hours of EDI CLE within the seven-hour requirement for legal professionalism that applies to each three-year CLE compliance period. The change is effective for CLE compliance periods beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023, and subsequent periods. The Supreme Court also approved changes to Regulation 103.1 and related regulations. A summary has been published here.

Changes to admission rules affect on-motion and UBE score transfer applicants

The Supreme Court has amended its rules governing admission of lawyers admitted elsewhere and individuals taking the Uniform Bar Exam in another state. The rule changes remove the requirement that an applicant's existing jurisdiction of licensure offer reciprocal admission to Colorado lawyers, extend the time period that an MPRE score remains valid, and modify certain other related requirements. Revised rules for attorney discipline and disability proceedings

Effective July 1, 2021, the Supreme Court amended the procedural rules governing attorney discipline and disability proceedings. The new rules can be found here.
