CIT was established in the year 2001 with the objective of providing quality technical education. The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Recognized by Government of Karnataka. The institute is ISO 9001:2015 Certified and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Institute is located near Gubbi, Tumkur, ~ 80 KM from Bangalore on National Highway 206. The Campus spreads across 60 Acres of lush green land with beautiful landscaping. The area enjoys pleasant atmosphere throughout the year. Students and staff adore the meticulously maintained campus and welcoming natural surroundings which itself is an inspiration to learn and excel. Students from throughout the nation, from different cultures have chosen CIT as their destination for higher education. The Department of Training and Placement at CIT is established as a separate entity and coordinates with many leading organizations which recruits Engineers/Techno crafts for entry level positions in their respective organizations. Our ethos lies in developing our society through value based education. 4 years of B.E program, which is affiliated to Visvesvarya Technology University, Belagavi, are tailored for high performing and industry ready engineers. The course structure and pedagogy are designed to provide students with the best engineering education and practical experience. Government of India recognized vocational training Centre at CIT ensures students acquire relevant skills, apart from knowledge, before graduating from the academia. Also, adequate platforms are provided to students to exhibit their technical as well as soft skills. Knowledge Network Workshop (K-NEW) is one such national event hosted by CIT for the benefit of students. Students get opportunity to continually engage with Industry experts through various Industry alliance programs. Many student projects in CIT are sponsored by KSCST, GoK every year.
CIT Alumni Association was founded in the year 2005 immediately after the first batch of students graduated from the university. CIT Alumni Association builds and upholds a life-long connection between the Institute and its alumni. The Alumni Association makes effort to connect alumni and build up a cherished Institute experience through a variety of events and services. The mission of the Association is to foster strong bonds between alumni, students and the Institute, to keep alumni informed, and create a network enabling them to remain engaged with their alma mater and help shape its future through the Association’s programs and services. Joining CIT Alumni Association is one of the easiest ways to reconnect, give back to the Institute, and serve as a springboard for further involvement.
