With limited bets available for the sport, we have gathered together some of the most common betting options provided by the majority of online and in-store bookmakers.

Top Batsman

One bet in which is available is betting on the top batsman. This bet consists of wagering on a particular batsman who you think will score the highest amount of runs either in a particular match, day or even across an entire tournament. Betting on a tops batsman may sound like a simple bet, however, good knowledge of both teams and batsman is essential in order to increase the likelihood of the bet coming through.

Most sixes

Another bet in which is common across bookmakers is ‘most sixes’. This bet is concerned around choosing either individual players or teams in which you think will score the most sixes. These bets can be split and measured across an individual match, day or similarly to top batsman across an entire tournament. When wagering on this bet it is important to consider both the environmental conditions, the surface of the pitch and the location as these determine different teams and individual players’ batting styles.

Method of dismissal

Method of dismissal offers many different betting options inside the bet itself. For example, you may choose to bet on how a particular batsmen will be caught out or how the first wicket may be made. These bets are also offered as live bets, allowing hardcore supporters to be caught up in the action whilst hopefully making a few extra bucks in the process!

Match ducks

As simple as it sounds, this bet is based upon guessing the correct amount of match ducks. You may be wondering, what exactly is a match duck? A match duck is simply the term given for when a player is discharged for not achieving a single run. Match ducks are commonly wagered by guessing above or below a specific number of ducks, guessing correctly will allow you to win the bet.

Markets

Unfortunately, there are also not many markets available for betting on cricket. Generally, these bets are based around choosing a winner for each match. With events such as the ICC champions trophy, the world cup or the ashes there is more often than not the option to bet outright on a winner of these events. Outright winner markets and other markets are further discussed below:

Outright winner

An example of an outright winner bet is placing a bet on England to win the ICC champions trophy in summer. Since these are outright and rely on the team to win to be the best of the tournament, the odds for these outright bets are a lot higher than single bets themselves, requiring the winning team to be the best in the event. The earlier you place these bets in the tournament/event the higher the odds available as more teams are left.

Six-overs

Six-over betting consists of wagering on how many runs a particular team can score within a given time frame. These time frames are provided by bookmakers and can last only a small margin of the match, or alternatively a full game.

Live cricket betting

Live betting is actually really popular and extensively used within cricket. This is because the game is every changing and consisting of many different players. Live betting options may consist but not limited to batsman markets, run markets, guessing which player will be caught out next or even guessing the number of dismissals within the game.

With bet markets and odds changing by the minute, live cricket betting is ideal for an enjoyable and profitable (if done right) experience! Ensure to read up on game rules and best players/teams if new to the sport to increase your chances of seeing good returns on the site whilst watching a great sport.

Promotional offers

Common promotions for cricket are majority seen within high-profile events such as the ICC cricket world cup. Promotions such as money back specials and free weekly bets are made available from the most popular online bookmakers.

Live-streaming and coverage options

For those who like to access everything in one place, or alternatively do not have access to channels such as Sky Sports to view the cricket, live-streaming the game is an important factor when it comes to placing bets. Sites such as Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and Coral have all been seen in the past to offer live-streaming options once a valid bet has been placed.

A few final tips

Before placing your first bet on the cricket, we thought it may be useful to gather together a few final tips to help you on your way and make your experience the best it can be!

Do your research

This actually applies to the majority, if not all sports. Before placing a bet on the cricket be sure to do your research. Look up which teams and players are currently in form, how certain teams perform in different environments and look up which way the bookmakers are backing, as more often than not the bookmakers are right!

Make the most of promotional and welcome offers

If you are new to betting, or betting on the cricket in general you may be able to make use of welcome or promotional offers. These usually consists of free bets. You may find these free bets to come in particularly useful for trying out different markets and betting options and coming to grips with the game.

Placing football-related bets is fun, especially when you’re betting on your home team or Nation! Furthermore, if you are familiar with teams and or players you may be able to see some good results, betting on the correct teams, highest goal scorers and even the amount of corners to be taken per match.

Events

There are many different events to bet on within Football, from the champions league, the premier league the world cup and anything in-between. With such wide variety and matches constantly being played, this allows for football bets to be placed all year, giving you even more of an excuse to watch the cricket,

Markets available

With many different components to the sport of football, this also brings many different betting options into the game. From the simple win/loss/draw up until guessing the correct amount of corners, there really is a very large and diverse market to tailor too. Below are some of the most popular markets available for you to bet on:

1.    Win/Loss/Draw

A win/loss/draw bet is a form of single bet in which you simply need to choose the correct team in which will either win the match or alternatively if you can’t make up your mind choosing a draw. These bets are the most simple bets and generally accompany lower odds in relation to other markets available unless there is an underdog playing.

2.    Goals scored

Goals scored also known as total goals (under/over) is a bet in which you must select how many goals will be scored throughout the entirety of the match by BOTH teams. For example, you may choose the total goals to be scored throughout the match to be either under or over 2.5. If you choose over 2.5 then anything over 3 goals will win you the bet, whereas choosing under 2.5 is anything from a maximum of 2 goals total.

3.    Amount of corners taken

Amount of corners taken throughout the match is a fairly similar bet to goals scored as mentioned above. These too are usually measured by under or over measures. For example, over 10.5 corners or under 10.5 corners. When two teams with both a heavily attacking strategy are playing one another this can be a fairly easy bet to win, as generally when there are more attacks there are more deflections and more corners to be taken.

4.    Correct score

Correct score is as simple as it sounds. Simply pick the correct team and correct score outcome for the match. It is important to note that these only counts within 90 minutes and not extra time.

5.    First goal

Another popular market is which player will score the first goal. These odds are often much higher than other bets as there are many players upon the pitch, providing plenty of opportunities for any player to score, slashing the odds. An example of this is choosing Liverpool’s Salah to score the first goal.

6.    Half-time and full-time result

Half-time and full-time results are two different bets in which you can choose the correct score at half-time to the correct team, or separately choose the full-time result and the correct team to win the bet.
