Thank you for visiting our website. Please take a few moments to view the pages, where you'll see some photos of both our farm and some of our animals. Our web site will continue to change throughout the year. Our goal is to provide you with information about our farm and herd, with updates as we go through the year (i.e. kidding season!), as well as listing any animals we will be offering for sale. We welcome questions and feedback.In brief, we'd like you to know the following about us: we are a multi-generation farm located in upstate New York. The farm has been in our family since 1897, and has evolved through the years from a dairy and market crop farm in its early years to a beef and dairy goat farm during the 1970s, '80s and '90s. For a brief time, we operated the farm primarily as a market hay farm, but found that we truly missed being involved with raising animals, especially goats! In 2002, we purchased our first two Boer doelings, and welcomed their kids in January 2003. Since that time, we have made the switch from Boer goats to a herd consisting of primarily Kiko goats, as well as crossbreds. This change over was done primarily to develop a herd that can more easily handle the constant challenge of parasites in goats, while being raised on grass with little or no grain inputs.To help us make decisions in our breeding program, we have utilized performance testing using the program offered by Kentucky State University. The data we received has been very helpful in choosing does and doelings to keep in our breeding herd.In addition to raising goats, we also keep a sizeable flock of hens and sell eggs on a stand at the farm. The hens are fed a locally grown, organically produced feed, and are out on pasture daily.
