Hailing from a research background in philosophy, linguistics and computer science, I came to the RIPE NCC back in 2016 and took on my role as the RIPE Labs Editor in 2020. My job is to help keep all corners of the Internet community informed and engaged on developments and events that continue to shape the Internet as we know it. In 2008, she lead efforts to establish IPv6 RIPEness as a measure of IPv6 deployment among LIRs. In 2011, she joined the Science Division as Manager of the Measurements Community Building team; in 2015 she moved to Communications Department as Senior Community Builder, with a focus on organising hackathons. Vesna gives presentations at many technical conferences and workshops, and enjoys visiting hackerspaces. Vesna received a Batchelor of Sciences Degree in Computer Science and Informatics from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade. She has three children. In this instalment of the series, Vesna Manojlovic connects the Layer 4 and the need for esteem. I am the Chief Legal Officer at the RIPE NCC, responsible for all legal aspects of the organisation. I am interested in technology changes (like IPv6 deployment), Internet measurement, data analysis, data visualisation, sustainability and security. I d like to bring research and operations closer together, ie. do research that is operationally relevant. When I m not working I like to make music (electric guitar, bass and drums), do sports (swimming, (inline) skating, bouldering, soccer), and try to be a good parent. On 23 March 2021, LINX London experienced an outage. As this is one of the very large Internet Exchange Points, this is an interesting case to study in more depth in order to see what we can learn about Internet robustness. I m a system architect/research coordinator at the RIPE NCC, where I work in the science group. Viet is a researcher and PhD student at the Chair of Connected Mobility at Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, from which he also received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in informatics.His interests include Internet measurements to study Internet and architectures, consolidation, protocols, and content delivery, among other things.
