We encourage visitors and would love to have you come out and join us for a dance. Our start up dance in the fall is the 3rd Saturday of September and our season wind up is the 1st Saturday of May - other than those dates the club dances on the First (1st) and Third (3rd) Saturdays of each month. Our dances begin at 7:30 PM with Plus dancing then Mainstream dancing at 8:00 PM and end at 10:00 PM. The cost for each dance is $5.00 per person.
We have designed this page as an ongoing means of communication, and we welcome your suggestions. If you do not find the information you are looking for in these pages, please contact our Club President.

The Frontier Twirlers are primarily a Mainstream Square Dance Club with one Phase II Level Round Dance cued in between each Square Dance tip. We enjoy modern western square dancing and believe that dancing isFriendship Set to Music.
Update!
The Frontier Twirlers Executive met on August 29th. At that meeting it was resolved that our club would remain inactive until at least the new year (2021). The following is a letter from our President:
Hello again everyone:
Well here we are at the end of summer (where did that go?) and would normally be looking at starting up dancing again next month. Unfortunately the Covid-19 pandemic came along and here we are in a situation that nobody wants to be in but we still are. Our Square Dancing activity is unfortunately one of body contact and is therefore one of the top contenders to spread the virus. Our last few classes of the past season were cancelled because of that and we will have to deal with that when we start up again. The executive and committee heads met today in our back yard (safely spaced) and it was determined that the Twirlers would cancel our dancing until at least the New Year at which time another look at the Covid situation will take place. If things have improved enough to get us to stage 4 or if an antivirus/vaccine has been developed we may be able to get back on the floor. Heres hoping! We have received word from the Mavericks club that they have decided to cancel their activities from September through until the end of December as well.
The Colwood Hall committee is holding our spots for us pending the outcome of all this Covid business. There are actually round dances being held there with social distancing and mask restrictions in place. Contact Connie Ritchie for details if this interests you. Square dancing is another matter entirely!
My intent is to contact each member to discuss their intentions in regard to membership and to get a feeling regarding your feelings as individuals about this situation. I suspect that you have all had thoughts on this subject and will hopefully share them with me. I hope to speak to everyone over the next few days. We are all in a state of confusion right now and even though we are all anxious to get back to dancing, the safety of each of us is of primary importance.
For those of you who are wondering.Do I pay my membership now, or wait until later to see what happens? Your 2019/20 membership covers membership to the club up to August 31. The Insurance that was included in that membership last fall, covers you up to December 31, 2020 which may be useful to you if you round dance. If you wish to renew your membership for 2020/21, please send a cheque to Linda Ross, 7219 Bethany Place, Sooke, B. C., V9Z 0T7. The fee is $25 per person for full members. If another club is your primary club (the one that you would normally receive your Cross Trail News through), the fee is $12 as that club is responsible for paying your Federation Dues ($10) and Society Dues incl. insurance ($3) If you decide not to renew your membership because of the uncertainty, I hope we will see you when things pick up again. Please keep in mind that whether you pay your club dues now or in the new year (if dancing is possible then), the rate is still the same. Dues will not be prorated. .
Our club will remain an active club in the eyes of the Canadian Society and the British Columbia Federation as long as we have an active Executive and pay the Society fees to both organizations. That has been taken care of so even if we are not dancing our club is still alive.Please notethat we will be required to know what your intentions are one way or the other, so that we can report our numbers accordingly.
