If you have been vaccinated with one of the FDA’s authorized COVID-19 vaccines, the CDC’s guidelines indicate you no longer need to get tested before (or after) travel or self-quarantine, unless the destination requires it. Even so, our travel industry leaders are strongly encouraging all travelers to Alaska to test for COVID-19 before beginning their trip, or directly after arrival. Current recommendations for visitors to Alaska are: 1. Complete the State of Alaska Travel Declaration Form and the Self Isolation Plan via the Alaska Travel Portal at https://www.alaska.covidsecureapp.com/ 2. Proof of a negative COVID-19 test, either before travel or on arrival to Alaska. a. If you choose to test prior to travel, you should upload to the portal either your results or proof of a test taken within 72 hours of travel, or have that proof available to show airport screeners. b. If you choose to test on arrival, the guidelines indicate a period of strict social distancing until you receive your results, followed by a second test in 5-14 days, so our best suggestion is to test prior to arrival when possible.
