WelcomeThe Ellenbrook Eels Senior Football Club was established in 2002 on the back of initial interest from three local residents Vaughan Roberts, Ben Franks & Troy Newick. The Club competes in the West Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL) with 3 senior teams and the colts team. The Masters (over 35's) play every second Sunday and are a vital part of our growing club.With Ellenbrook being such a young suburb in the Swan Valley, the club prides itself on being a “family based club” with regular events including family gala day, Auskick half time matches and the Saturday night family dinners.The Club is based at the Ellenbrook District Open Space, Maffina Parade, Ellenbrook. 2011 was the clubs 10 year anniversary and yielded the clubs first flag with the reserves taking out the C4 Reserves Grand Final. This was backed up in 2012,2014 & 2017 with the club claiming the C3 reserves flags. The colts became flag winners as well in the 2016 West Coast Eagles Colts division. President s Report ESFC 2020Firstly, I want to say how proud I am of the season we were thankfully allowed to have. We started with the best preseason numbers and new players that the club has seen, only to be cut short and closed down by Covid-19 before round 1.Unsure if the season were going ahead, it was a long couple of months until we could start to believe 2020 was still a possibility.I want to thank my Vice President Matt Gray, who has been by my side though out Covid-19 training and Season 2020. I hope We will continue our Partnership long into the future.I would also like to thank our sponsors that have stood by us in challenging times. Our sincere thanks you to you allFinancially speaking, I am pleased to report a very solid financial result for the 2020 season, Treasurer Richard Lee will detail our result. It means a great start for our 2021 Flag Campaign.The 9 round home and away season was very welcoming and ended up flawless for our league side going though undefeated. Unfortunately we lost the grand final by 3 points after they really were a standout in the comp all year and should be very proud of themselves. I want to thank Justin Wood and his playing group on an amazing year. Our league captain Jordy Barber has done an outstanding job of leading his team to a Grand Finial. It was a disappointing result, but I know his strong focus will now be on the 2021 flag.Our Reserves were as equally successful, finishing top making the grand final and just missing a flag by inside a kick. Great Job by Jason Firkins and Patrick Casey, to steer the boys to the last Saturday in the season. Our Colts had a very Challenging Season playing in the B Grade, the boys stood by each other all year lead by coach Phil Beaman and Captain Connor Hyde with Manger Georgia Saylor Keeping them all in line. Tough year builds close team mates. Your intensity was relentless all season. We are very proud of you all and hope you take what you have learnt this year into 2021. There is some great talent coming from the yr12 next year very excited about that, well done to the year 12 coach Dan Hilton and his crew for finishing 3rd in there also disrupt season.The 3rds season was short and over way too quick for our boys, just when they start to get going. Well Done Wayne Maiden (Hiley) for a great first hit out as coach. Very lucky to have you mate. Thank you to Callum White for assisting Hiley and I know the boys are very excited for next year.The Masters as usual had a fantastic year I was lucky enough to catch the last game really love watching the old boys they put their hearts and soul in every game. Thankyou Adrian Hughes and the great crew that run the masters’ season.To receive club of the year was a great honor, for myself and Matty and our committee who have done everything right during the covid-19 period it was an awesome reward. It was a very tough year to get the club up and running when we got the green light it went so well because of the commitment of the committee and the executives. Thank you to everyone in the committee for the running of the club in 2020.Thank you to the ladies that cook our Saturday Night Meals you guys are amazing. Thank you to the Ellenbrook Junior Footy Club for running the canteen, Ben, Steve and all your Crew you have done an awesome job.I believe it has been a very successful year on and off the field and cannot wait until 2021.I’m also excited to announce women’s football at the Ellenbrook Eels next season lead by Female Football Coordinator Alby Page.
