Eddy Current Technology Incorporated introduces the ect 48 Micro Dock, the world’s smallest and lightest 4 Frequency, 8 Channel fully featured Eddy Current System for high speed heat exchanger tube inspection.Eddy Current Technology Incorporated has over 34 years, over a third of a century experience in multi-frequency eddy current technology for the high speed inspection of heat exchanger tubes.Every day on every continent of this planet, with the exception of Antarctica, our eddy  current systems are being used in the Nuclear Power, Thermal Power, Petro Chemical, Chemical, Fertilizer and Air Conditioning industries.We have been building simultaneous injection multi-frequency eddy current equipment longer than any other company.  In fact, our initial design concept that went on the market in 1980 is the same design concept used in a vast majority, if not all, multi-frequency eddy current instruments on the market today.  Our multi-frequency eddy current systems have been the smallest and lightest available.  We are particularly proud of our ect 48 Micro Dock Eddy Current System that is available today.Eddy Current Technology developed Near Field ™ eddy current testing to detect both inside and outside defects in ferromagnetic tubes in 1996, the last millennium.  Unlike Remote Field testing of ferromagnetic tubes, the signal does not have to travel along the outside of the tube; therefore, it is not blocked at support plates and tube sheets, two areas where defects in heat exchanger tubes frequently occur.  To date, no other company has developed a Near Field ™ Eddy Current System capable of detecting outside defects.  Our Near Field ™ testing capability is the best on the market for detecting defects in ferromagnetic tubes near support structure and tube sheets.In 2004, we combined Near Field ™ Technology and Remote Field Technology into the same probe, further enhancing the ability of our products to inspect ferromagnetic tubes.In 1983, Eddy Current Technology Incorporated developed a probe capable of detecting circumferential cracks at the tube sheet expansion transition zone. At that time, no other technology to detect these defects was available; in fact, the top researchers in the field of Eddy Current testing of heat exchanger tubes believed this defect to be undetectable.  Over the years, our probe design has evolved and is now our 2X2DDG probe.  The other technology capable of detecting circumferential cracks at the tube sheet expansion transition zone is rotating pancake coil (RPC).  Because this probe rotates, the inspection speed is very slow and probe life is short.  Using our 2X2DDG technology, the inspection is very fast and probe life is significantly longer.
