We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.If you are in need of funeral services right now, please call our 24 hour number where one of our directors can assist you 403-932-1039. OUR STATEMENT FOR COVID-19 SITUATIONWe are with you, our community, as we stand together through these uncertain times.  Cochrane Country Funeral Home and our parent company Pierson’s Funeral Service, will continue to operate and work with families with added measures to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone. Funeral arrangements may be completed by phone, email or other methods of distance communication, if coming in to our office is not possible. For those needing to come in for arrangements, we ask that the arrangements be held with a maximum of two people and the Funeral Director.  What we are doing to keep us all safe:The health and safety of the public and our employees is our top priority. We assure you that we are taking proactive measures to help prevent the spread of any potential illness. We are closely monitoring information that is coming from several important sources, most relevant, Alberta Health Services, regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).  We are implementing the following guidelines from AHS and other relevant sources (WHO World Health Organization, CDC – Centre for Disease Control, AFSA – Alberta Funeral Service Association, FSAC – Funeral Service Association of Canada, NFDA – National Funeral Directors Association).We are practicing social distancing, avoiding hand shaking, hugs and maintaining distance from others.We use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean our building before and after all arrangements, with particular attention paid to high touch items like door handles, faucets, chairs and other communal areas.Employees feeling sickness are staying home.We use strict “Universal Precautions” as outlined by health authorities, a practice that has been in place since our inception, in handling our deceased loved ones. We are vigilant in this practice. We ask for your cooperation:Due to restrictions brought forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, at this time, Cochrane Country Funeral Home may only support small, family invitational services to a maximum of 6 people. Pierson’s Funeral Home in Calgary is able to accommodate private family invitational events of no more than 10 people, including clergy, and our families may use their facilities to hold their events if they wish.We ask those entering our facilities, join us in practices that will keep everyone safe.
