11,052We need your help to “wrap” the children and families of Ukraine with the comfort of a handmade quilt!
We have several friends and business associates in Ukraine and Poland and have been in almost daily contact with them since the invasion. The refugees are desperate to know that people care about what is happening to them. When speaking with our friend Nataliya, we asked her if she thought the Ukrainian refugees could use a handmade quilt. And with tears streaming down her face, she was overwhelmed that someone would want to make or donate quilts to comfort her people. They are fleeing their homes, leaving fathers and older brothers behind, with just a backpack or small suitcase and are without any comforts of home. “Almost one child per second is becoming a refugee of the war”, according to the United Nations.
One and a half million children have joined the exodus from Ukraine as of March 15, 2022.
Knowing that quilters are givers…we took action!
How It Works
01.
— Handmade Quilts
Handmade quilts in lap, throw, or crib size. Any quilt up to twin size preferred.
02.
— New or Barely Used
Quilts should be barely used or new. Have one in a closet you could send? Or are you
a speedy quilter and can make one or two child-size or throw quilts?
03.
— Clean
Please have quilts freshly washed and
wrapped in a plastic bag to protect them when shipping to us.
04.
— Label Them
Feel free to add a label with the name of the maker and a message of encouragement and attach to the back of the quilt.
Register each quilt here, print the complete info page (one per quilt), fold with QR code visible, and place in a ziplock bag and safety-pin to your quilt.
05.
— Info To Include
If you would like to include a picture of yourself and/or family with your quilt, add it to the plastic bag.
06.
— Send Your Quilt
