Job Title: Boat Sander

Department: Assembly (Finish & Detailing)

Performs preparation and sanding techniques in the build/repair of boats and boat parts, both interior and exterior. Has learned sanding techniques, use of materials and tools, to sand materials to the appropriate thickness. Able to meet schedule and budget and charge out parts and materials. Work is performed independently. May potentially train and lead small work team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares wood, metal, fiberglass, or other surfaces for painting.Tape or otherwise protect surrounding surfaces, such as decks, hardware, and windows during work process.Full knowledge of the requirements for prepping and sanding the products utilizing sanding apparatuses and appropriate grit paper to obtain proper finish.Cleans, sands, and smooth surfaces, using appropriate tools, such as scrapers, sandpaper, steel wool, or chemicals.May perform small repairs to surfaces to be painted using appropriate materials and tools.Sets up and dismantles staging and ventilation protection following OSHA staging guidelines.Able to work cooperatively with other department personnel.Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Minimum Skill Requirements:

Must be able to read, write, and be able to add/subtract whole numbers and fractions.High school diploma or GED preferred.Knowledge and operation of basic hand and power tools; sandpapers, tapes, grinders, surface sanders, DA and Block sanders, polishers, and buffers.Two (2) to three (3) years painting experience, preferably in boat building and/or boat repair.Ability to effectively use templates and overlays.Experience in a similar role helpful.Must be able to wear a full body Tyvek suit and respirator per OSHA standards.

Environmental Conditions:
Exposed to dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions. May be exposed to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, cleaners.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
Safety Glasses. Closed-toed, closed-heeled rubber soled footwear. Respirator and full Tyvek suit.

Job Title: Marine Electrician

Department: Assembly

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be experienced in cable fabrication, electrical panel assembly, wire stripping, electrical schematics layouts, hook-ups, and soldering.Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws and threads wires through conduit to terminals such as connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators and switch panels.Connects power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, fire control and other electronic equipment.Tests electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance tolerances, and phase angle I circuits using meters and indicators.May construct and install instrument panels, using hand tools, rulers, dividers, and power drills, following specifications.Maintain records, forms, and logs as required.Perform job duties with the use of basic hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers, wire cutters, drill motors, sand and grinding tools, etc.Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Skill Requirements:

One (1) to three (3) years of related experience.Ability to read blueprints, shop orders, sketches, and drawings is necessary to the completion of tasks or work.Must be able to perform basic (simple) shop mathematics.Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task.General understanding of metric measuring system.Naval craft experience is a plus.Note: Level will be determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, skills, etc.Must be able to read and write.High school diploma or GED preferred.Must follow all safety standards and procedures, including chemical handling standards.Must adhere to all quality standards and adhere to new standards as processes evolve.Must demonstrate a record of dependability and reliability with prior work or professional experience.Must demonstrate the ability to work well with teams, professional or otherwise.Understand and follow all verbal and written directions/instructions.Ability to use hand, battery, and pneumatic tools as required.Skills in forklift operation, overhead hoist, computer, fiberglass and/or gel-coat applications preferred.

Job Summary:
Prepare and use resin saturated fiberglass panels and molds to produce and bond together hulls, decks, soles, and other yacht components for further assembly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Measure and cut materials to the required dimensions using hand and/or power tools.Mix resin and catalyst in proper proportions and apply by hand or with spray gun.Clean, wax and prepare molds for use.Grind fiberglass to required finish.Paint finished surfaces with Gelcoat and/or paint.Perform rough carpentry tasks on fiberglass and structural components.Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, ladder and stair climbing and occasional crawling, twisting and lying.Materials needing to be lifted and/or carried may weigh up to 50 pounds.Work effectively as part of a team providing high quality Customer Service.Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to beworn when and if handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.Maintain and participates in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and safe.Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and safety rules.Will be expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.

Other Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Prefer 1 to 3 years’ experience doing like duties in similar environment.Prior work experience in Lamination; or prior work experience with fiberglass, resins, and catalysts.

Job Summary:
Pamlico Yachtworks, LLC is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Systems Specialist to join our outstanding Supply Chain/Logistics Team. This role supports the timely and adequate supply of information and materials for production while continuously seeking ways to reduce overall costs. Functions include generating reports, updating work orders and Bills of Materials (BOMs), coordinating with internal departments, assisting in ERP implementation, and building, managing, and improving work order pick lists.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and update reports to communicate material statusBuild, maintain, and improve Excel spreadsheets for additional applicationsReviewing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and current inventory to determine min/max levels Monitor material flow to identify bottlenecks and forecast problemsAssist Purchasing with PO management, tracking material shipments, and publish ETAsAs needed, process purchase requisitions from departments for non-production materials, tools, etc.As needed, manage POs – write and send, get acknowledgements, adjust dates/quantitiesManage inventory issues, schedule changes, and work order updates Assist in design and implementation of a new ERP system Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, must be fluent with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, Epicor Kinetic ERP experience is a major plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy, and detail oriented.Strong organizational and time management skills, basic math, and negotiation skills preferred.Ability to work in an office and/or shop floor environments, plus be able stand and walk for extended periods of time.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
