Guy whose memes misled some voters in 2016 is going to jail; FBI lawyer who falsified document to obtain FISA warrant on Carter Page gets light slap on wrist

It’s safe to say that the Deep State has won and the fix has been in for some time now.

Remember the guy with tens of thousands of social media followers who faces jail time after being arrested by the Justice Department for circulating a meme in 2016 telling people they could vote for Hillary Clinton via text message? That guy’s likely going to jail.

Meanwhile, the person who falsified a document so the FBI could get a FISA warrant on Carter Page to help the Democrats make it look like Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election is now almost totally off the hook — he got a slap on the wrist at best:

And check out this load of BS from the judge:

Clinesmith obtained no real personal benefit from his actions and had no active intent to harm, the judge also noted.

“My view of the evidence is that Mr. Clinesmith likely believed that what he said about Dr. Page was true,” Boasberg said.

“He was saving himself some work taking an inappropriate shortcut,” but didn’t intend to give wrong information about Page, the judge added.

OK, now imagine a federal judge giving that sort of benefit of the doubt to somebody who did something illegal that helped Trump. You can’t — and that’s the problem. It’s a huge problem.

DOJ finally makes arrest for attempt to interfere in 2016 election

Hey look, somebody’s finally being held accountable for an attempt to interfere in the 2016 election!

Was it the FBI personnel who lied to a FISA court to obtain a warrant to surveil Trump adviser Carter Page to help lend credence to the bogus Steele dossier?

Of course not.

The arrested person was some guy with just over 50,000 Twitter followers who posted a meme encouraging people to vote for Hillary Clinton via text message from their phones, so he’s been charged with depriving people of their right to vote.

From the U.S. Justice Department:

A Florida man was arrested this morning on charges of conspiring with others in advance of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election to use various social media platforms to disseminate misinformation designed to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote.

Douglass Mackey, aka Ricky Vaughn, 31, of West Palm Beach, was charged by criminal complaint in the Eastern District of New York. He was taken into custody this morning in West Palm Beach and made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce E. Reinhart of the Southern District of Florida.

“According to the allegations in the complaint, the defendant exploited a social media platform to infringe one the of most basic and sacred rights guaranteed by the Constitution: the right to vote,” said Nicholas L. McQuaid, Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “This complaint underscores the department’s commitment to investigating and prosecuting those who would undermine citizens’ voting rights.”
The complaint alleges that in 2016, Mackey established an audience on Twitter with approximately 58,000 followers. A February 2016 analysis by the MIT Media Lab ranked Mackey as the 107th most important influencer of the then-upcoming Election, ranking his account above outlets and individuals such as NBC News (#114), Stephen Colbert (#119) and Newt Gingrich (#141).

As alleged in the complaint, between September 2016 and November 2016, in the lead up to the Nov. 8, 2016, U.S. Presidential Election, Mackey conspired with others to use social media platforms, including Twitter, to disseminate fraudulent messages designed to encourage supporters of one of the presidential candidates (the “Candidate”) to “vote” via text message or social media, a legally invalid method of voting.

After all the s**t that went on in 2016, that’s the arrest that is made? Was the guy a POS on social media? Sure. But still, after all the malfeasance and crooked behavior we saw related to the bogus investigation and subsequent “Russia collusion” narrative, that being the only arrest is pathetic.

I regret to inform you that the Deep State has won.

Profiles in presidential endorsement regret, labor union edition

Joe Biden hasn’t even been the president for a week yet and the regrets are starting to flow.

Frankly I can’t feel bad for some of these people. Anybody who believed a word uttered by the eight-year understudy to the “if you like your plan you can keep it” president is an idiot. But it’s too bad that the rank and file workers have to bear the brunt of that gullibility.

Back in August of last year, the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters went all-in on Joe Biden for president:

The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) today announced that the UA Political Engagement Committee (PEC) has concluded its endorsement process with a decision to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden for President.

“We’re not going to sit on the sidelines at the UA. This endorsement is about putting UA members to work and fighting for fair wages and good benefits. Under a Biden Administration, that’s exactly what we’ll get,” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association.

Obviously they believed all of Biden and Harris’ bulls**t about not wanting to ban fracking and caring about union jobs, along with promises to be centrists on the issue of energy.

And now they know it, albeit too late. Here’s the union’s latest statement on Biden signing an EO to kill off the Keystone pipeline (a move so nuts even Justin Trudeau is against it):

The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) issued the following statement today following the news that the Biden-Harris Administration plans to rescind the permit and effectively end construction on the Keystone XL pipeline:

“In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1. Let me be very clear: When built with union labor by the men and women of the United Association, pipelines like Keystone XL remain the safest and most efficient modes of energy transportation in the world. Sadly, the Biden Administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work. For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction,” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association.

I feel for the workers but it’s difficult to have any empathy for the union leaders. Maybe they knew what would happen but have been promised more members once the latest taxpayer financed pie-in-the-sky and destined to again be short-lived “green jobs” shams are in place.

New wrinkle to Biden’s EO mandating masks on federal property: It doesn’t apply to Democrat elites or their families as long as they’re ‘celebrating’

After the inauguration on Wednesday, President Biden signed an executive order mandating the wearing of masks on all federal properties.

Guess what happened next.

Later that day Biden was spotted at the Lincoln Memorial in violation of his own EO:

Plugs also forgot to tell his family about the new strict mandate:

And all that brings us to the new White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who seemed to have been caught off guard by a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy (probably because Team Biden isn’t used to having to hit anything except the softest of softballs):

They were “celebrating” so it’s OK?

Look, I think a lot of these Covid regulations are stupid if not flat-out counterproductive, but hypocrisy still needs to be called out.

If anything comes of this, it will be that Doocy gets his WH press credentials revoked for daring to point out something that none of the other “reporters” would have dared bring up.

Here’s a shocker from U-Haul’s report about the most-fled states in 2020

Every year U-Haul releases a report about outbound vs. inbound states according to their rental data.

This will be the least surprising thing you’ve ever heard, but in 2020 Californians fled that state like dogs in a kennel that was on fire:

California ranks last by a wide margin, supplanting Illinois as the state with the greatest net loss of U-Haul trucks. California has ranked 48th or lower since 2016. Illinois has been 49th or 50th since 2015, when U-Haul began ranking states based on annual net gain.

New Jersey and Illinois were 48th and 49th on the list. New York was 42nd.

The temporary saving grace for those states might be that Biden is taking office with Democrat control of Congress, and those states will be sent a s**tload of money to cover their self-inflicted losses. Oh, and they’ll also blame Trump for disasters of their own doing.

Kamala Harris rendered speechless after awkward turn of events in Jussie Smollett story

Homina homina homina

After actor Jussie Smollett said he was attacked by two guys in red hats saying “this is MAGA country” while also yelling slurs at him, Kamala Harris was horrified:

Fast-forward about three weeks after some rather interesting turns of events, and what’s Harris saying now? I saw this on TV yesterday and had to rewind it for suitable framing:

Here’s an alternate version of that answer:

This is what Harris said in full, which isn’t much better than the above stammering and stuttering:

Simple suggestion for Airbnb to get around NYC mayor’s concern about ‘illegal hotels’

Considering the fact that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio heads up the biggest sanctuary city in the country and welcomes illegal aliens with open arms, I find this concern about “illegal hotels” to be hilarious:

Simple solution for Airbnb: Start calling them “sanctuary shelter for out-of-town visitors” or something like that.

Classic: Mitch McConnell calls Dem Sen. Markey’s ‘Green New Deal’ bluff and he doesn’t like it

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Sen. Edward Markey are the main members of Congress behind the “Green New Deal” sham proposal (that’s an absolute embarrassment by the way), and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has pledged to move it forward:

Hey, look at that! The Dems’ emergency proposal that they say would save the planet from a fiery demise will get a vote. Progressive climate change alarmists like Sen. Markey must be thrilled, right? Well, no:

Give McConnell at least a hundred “called your bluff” points. The Dems don’t want this steaming pile of multi-trillion dollar socialism brought to a vote because they don’t want to be on record.

Go figure: ‘Believe All Women’ Dems not so eager to discuss allegation against Virginia Lt. Gov. (Bernie fakes a phone call)

Welcome to Dodge City!

At the same time Virginia’s governor is spinning like a top after the emergence of a blackface photo from the 1980s, the state’s Lt. Governor is fending off a sexual harassment accusation:

Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, who over the weekend was championed by many Democrats as a successor to embattled Gov. Ralph Northam, is now fiercely defending his own reputation in the face of a sexual assault allegation.

Fairfax said it was no coincidence that the allegation, which was published on the same conservative website Sunday night that first published a photo from Northam’s page in the 1984 Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook showing a man in blackface and one in a Ku Klux Klan outfit, surfaced just days after the Northam bombshell.

“Does anybody think it’s any coincidence that on the eve of potentially my being elevated that that’s when this uncorroborated smear comes out? Does anybody believe that’s a coincidence?” Fairfax asked a swarm of reporters Monday at the Capitol, where the lieutenant governor presided over the Senate chamber during a long day of legislative business.

Remember what happened after the uncorroborated Brett Kavanaugh allegations? The Democrats were in full “BELIEVE ALL WOMEN” mode, but now?

And what does Bernie “we need a national discussion about sexual harassment and abuse of power” Sanders think about a woman’s allegation against Justin Fairfax? Comrade Bernie went to “fake a phone call” extremes in order to dodge that question:

Instant hypocrisy classic!
