A fully accredited semester–long study away program that immerses students in every aspect of producing an ambitious feature film for national release.

WHO CAN APPLY? Students from any accredited college may apply. Principal college partners include Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, Skidmore, Hamilton, Kenyon, Bates, Sarah Lawrence, Augsburg University, Northern Vermont University, and more.

We accept no more than 40 students to ensure deep immersion and transformative experiential learning.

14 weeks.

Kick off your semester with a week-long excursion to the Sundance Film Festival; then move to Vermont for hands on learning and full-tilt production. We wrap when the picture is in the can.

One feature film.

During each Semester Cinema session we produce an ambitious and multi-layered feature film - from script to screen. Students work in casting, costumes, cinematography, production design, post-production and more – we’ll explore historic and culturally relevant themes and shape vivid and complex characters - in imaginative cinematic style.
