Hey Facebook people... We've created a group for XS650.com members to connect. Check it out!XS650.com is dedicated to the Yamaha 650 twin motorcycles (XS-1, XS-2, TX650, and XS650) and to their owners who love to ride, restore, and customize them. All XS650 enthusiasts are welcome regardless of where you are from or whether you are into XS650 choppers, bobbers, cafe racers, trackers, or restorations. Enjoy the site! I am attaching a the proofs for the 2021 XS650 Calendar. The 2021 Calendar is another great group of XS s and going to be one for the collector s out there. I appreciate all the members in the calendar who provided me with what I needed for the calendar with very little friction. Even those who are not computer savvy were able to get it done! Nice job. If the calendar entries have any requests for changes let me know ASAP.As the calendar has grown over the years I needed to adapt and have a better system in place to communicate, handle checkout, and track orders. Also, some users were getting confused with the paypal link, and who is producing, shipping, etc. I have committed some extra time and resources to setting up a dedicated website for the XS650 calendar. I will continue to update as I go but all the functionality should be there. Down the road I may have some feature pages(months), possibly upload the past year s calendars and some other things. Basically now it will...This will be the ninth year for the XS650 Calendars! As usual, Shawn (samoran1) is putting them together for us. The nomination stage is over and there are 28 bikes this year to vote on this year. Click here to see the nomination thread. This is the voting thread. There will be 13 bikes in the calendar (the calendar will include January 2022). The bike with the most votes will be on the cover and also have its own month. As in past years, each member is only allowed one bike per calendar, so members with more than one bike will have their bike with the highest number of votes in the calendar. Voting will end on September 20th. You can vote for as many bikes as you want (multiple selections allowed). You can only submit your votes once, and only existing members will be able to vote. Accounts created...I hope you are well and have had a chance to get out on two wheels and enjoy some riding and nature. What a SH*T SHOW of a year. Let s move on to 2021 already, shall we?This will be the official thread for the 2021 XS650 Calendar. NOW is the time to get your bikes out while it is still nice before winter and get some quality photos if you want to nominate or have a shot at being selected in the calendar. Deadlines are going to be tight this year. I have a goal of shipping calendars in October before the holiday season to avoid any delays that may incur.I appreciate the feedback on the previous year calendars. Your guys comments and appreciation of the calendars is what keeps it alive for me.PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST:Post UP TO (3) nominations here in this thread with a picture. Nominations MUST INCLUDE PHOTO AND MEMBER NAME IN POST. Please notify the member you have nominated to accept nomination. NOMINATION PHOTOS DO NOT...Word came down this morning that the 2020 CVMG Paris National Rally has been canceled until approx. the same dates next year in June 2021.Obviously this is a disappointment and I apologize to all those who made travel plans._______It has just been announced that the featured marque of the 2020 Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (CVMG) Rally will be.... the Yamaha XS650!The CVMG Rally is a big deal with hundreds / thousands of bikes and attendees, contests for various classes of bikes, riding events and a very large swap meet. The event will be held in the pretty little town of Paris Ontario which is southwest of Toronto on June 18-21, 2020. There are some local hotels but many people camp on the local fairgrounds where the Rally has been held for the last 47 years.Check it out at: www.cvmg.caPlan to be there to meet other XS650 enthusiasts, buy and sell bikes, parts and stuff and have a great time celebrating our favourite motorcycle!More details to follow as they become available. Attached is the preliminary proofs of the 2020 calendar. Will be touching base with the members I do not have bios from and tie up some other odds and ends before it goes to press.Thank you to everyone who has already ordered and for your patience. It looks like we re a month ahead of schedule this year so a big THANK YOU to everyone who pitched in and helped in any way and for the winners getting me photos in a timely manner.PRE-SALE LINK: SOLD OUTWe will do a pre-sale for one week and then we will place the order with limited quantities. The official thread for the 8th edition of the XS650 Calendar - 2020. Let s make this the smoothest calendar process yet. I want to keep the deadlines on this so let s get the nominations rolling! Thanks to everyone who helps out in any small way and for all the kind comments on the calendars each year. It is a lot of work to put together but makes it worth it in the end. Someone pointed out the other day that we don t have a thread dedicated to sharing our rides. We have a What did you do to your XS today thread. We have one dedicated to Justa joke. We even have the Great 2M barbecue hunt dedicated to finding great BBQ... but nothing for the everyday ordinary ride... or the epic one for that matter. Well, now we do.Take some pics... shoot a video. Test ride around the block? Day trip? Cross country with friends? Found your Eldorado? Put it up here. I m pretty sure pics are allowed. Gaily bedight,A gallant knight,In sunshine and in shadow,Had journeyed long,Singing a song,In search of Eldorado. But he grew old—This knight so bold—And o’er his heart a shadow—Fell as he foundNo spot of groundThat looked like Eldorado. And, as his strengthFailed him at length,He met a pilgrim shadow—‘Shadow,’ said he,‘Where can it be—This land of Eldorado?’‘Over the MountainsOf the Moon,Down the Valley of the...I have some sad news to convey regarding our good friend RobinC. This afternoon, several of us received the following message from one of Robin s sons who used Robin s PM box to communicate with us:______________________________________________________Hello, this is Robin s son. I m not sure where to post this but I figured this would find the right people. My dad unfortunately passed away this afternoon from what appears to be a heart attack. I know this group meant a lot to him and I wanted to let those of you who knew him well know and I don t know how long he ll be kept logged in here. Thanks for being a place where he could find a lot of joy. He spoke of this group all the time._______________________________________________________I don t have any further details at this point in time. I can say that several of us got to know Robin very well over the past few years and a couple of us rode with him - even as recently as a couple of weeks ago. I think that I can speak for all of us who came to appreciate his enthusiasm, his endless good humour, his patience and kindness to everyone and his generosity with his knowledge. He will be sorely missed.I am sure that we can all draw our own lessons from this sad event, but I would be remiss if I didn t point out that there will be two especially poignant entries in this years XS650 calendar.I regret to inform you that WeekendRider passed away in his home this morning 10/19/2018.I want to extend my gratitude to the members of this forum for your many years of common interest and fellowship. This hobby was a big part of his life in his later years. He respected and talked about many of the people he met here, and the organized rides he attended.Like Mailman said, your ripples have a far reaching effect, and the individuals here have touched our lives in a positive way.Thank you for all the kind words, it means a lot to his family.Keep your knees in the breeze, God bless - Skidz7810/6/18Thanks for the good times.- WeekendriderThe Calendars shipped last week and many people have already received them.
