In keeping with government guidelines, the trustees are now looking towards a reopening of the tramway.We were hoping to reopen on the 6th September, but unfortunately as many of our volunteers are cautious regards returning, we are now working towards a date of the 4th October. By this time hopefully people will feel more able to safely perform their duties.The outline we are working to is as follows: -Access at the top, but with no sweet shop and no ticket sales. All tickets will be purchased at the bottom after alighting from the tram.A queuing system will be in place prior to boarding to enable social distancing.Access at the bottom will be via a queue to enable social distancing.All tickets will be available at the bottom station.Prior to boarding each tram, seats will be sanitised by our staff.Please note that face coverings will be advised when riding on the trams.We appreciate your cooperation when waiting and during your trip on the trams. Be assured all measures are to keep all of us safe whist still being able to enjoy a ride on this historic attraction.We are aiming to be up and running on the 4th October.Watch this space.Obviously we have lost a considerable amount of revenue due to the closure so we have set up a Text Giving facility, if you would like to contribute to help with our rebuilding programme.Text SGT 3 to 70085 to donate £3. We have resumed essential maintenance and this is going according to plan. As you can see we are aiming to reopen on the 6th September.We shall be continuing with maintenance and refurbishing so we will be ready.All the plans for our 125th anniversary have obviously had to be ditched, but all-being-well we are hoping to be able to put on some sort of commemoration in the future. Allied to the text donation we have arranged, we can also take advantage of "Amazon's" charity facility.Many of you use Amazon, so its just as easy  to ensure the Tramway benefits without you paying anything additional.Just login using Smile.Amazon.co.uk  You will then have the option of contributing to us by selecting "Glen Tramway Preservation Company" from the list.
