PowerYacht. Powered by Blogger. November 2, 2021 New Model: Solace 415 CS

With a lot of attention currently on the big centre consoles of around fifteen meters or more powered by the new 2021 presented 600hp Mercury, Volvo turns it around and collaborates with Solace for a stern drive powered twelve meter centre console. The twelve meter size has been the bread and butter for the outboard expansion the past years, so Volvo trying to gather interest in this section of the market is not a combination of events. Enters the Solace 415 CS, the sterndrive inboard version of the 41 CS. The advantages for stern drives are known, from a clear uncluttered transom area to better consumption offered by the diesel inboards which compared to the triple outboard 41 offers according to preliminary data fifty per cent less fuel use and a range up to 497 nautical miles. It will be interesting if we see other builders follow Solace and offer diesel sterndrive inboards on some of the bigger centre consoles.Technical Data:LOA - 12.49 m (41ft)Beam - 3.73Draft - 0.60 m * drives upFuel Capacity - 1680 lWater Capacity - 151 lMax Persons - sixteenAccommodation - two berthsEngines - 2 x Volvo D6 440hpPropulsion - Volvo dual propeller DPI stern driveswww.solaceboats.com

0comments November 1, 2021 blogger - Supply Chain Issues

The boating and yachting market has finally returned to where it was in 2008 before the global crisis of that fall, and what we get? Supply chain issues currently affecting global trade, which unfortunatelyalso affect boat building. It will be interesting how the boating market will be affected by this. New builds whether of small boat builders might suffer the most, but even some bigger ones are taking the hit for the reason that they cannot expand how much they like.

Global trade is so much connected together, that a stop to something generates a shock. The Suez channel seven day blockage of March 2021 is a reminder how even such an accident, affecting only one ship can slow global trade. According to economic experts the M/V Ever Given blockage of the Suez channel and disruption of global trade, has ripple affects effecting us till today. That was only seven days!

Supply Chain issues are a let down, especially in this expanding boating market, where one can see boat builders and brands enter an era of growth, which in a normal scenariowould translates to more offers of size and type. With these supply chain issues the successful results shown in the boat shows of Cannes, Genova, and Monaco made even the big builders extend there order book by time. Yes 2022 is sold out for most, and 2023 is half way there, with the popular new models having to enter in 2024. In a normal market a boat builder would try to build more boats, in the 2021/22 everyone is making a step at a time and with extreme caution.

So yes it is a great time to build and sell new boats, but it is in the end a half filled glass, which could have been full, way much fuller.

Azimut Selected for Compasso D'Oro Award
Magellano 25 Metri has been included in the ADI Design Index, the coveted annual list of the worlds best products that will be candidates for the Compasso DOro Award. The yacht born from the collaboration between the shipyard, Ken Freivokh and Vincenzo De Cotiis is therefore a candidate for this most prestigious of international awards, created in 1954 by Gio Ponti, together with the most fascinating projects in every sector.Confirming the unique features of a product that has set a new benchmark for design and is the first crossover in the yachting world, Magellano 25 Metri by Azimut Yachts will compete for the upcoming Compasso dOro, the long-running design award whose Historical Collection has been recognised as of exceptional artistic and historical interest by the Italian Ministry of Culture and included in the national heritage. The yachts inclusion in the ADI Design Index, the list of the years best creations selected by the storied association, is the first step in competing for the award. The ADIs Permanent Observatory - a panel of experts, designers, critics, historians and journalists - has recognised the original feature of the project, expressed by the union of chic and timeless lines designed by Ken Freivokh, a point of reference in the yachting world and the creator of a Collection that has revolutionised the sector, and the interiors created by world famous architect and important exponent of collectible art Vincenzo De Cotiis. The two protagonists behind Magellano 25 Metri, innovators by nature in their respective fields, have created a unique yacht, a work of seagoing art that stands out for a singular perception of spatial depth and continuous visual contact with the sea. An unusual feature of the design is the widespread use of artistic fibreglass, created with an elaborate artisanal process, which is given a new lease of life here and becomes an aesthetic feature, paired with materials and woods like brushed Verde Alpi marble, dark walnut wood, carpet, polished brass, and lacquered or ribbed wood. The furnishings have flowing designs and seamless curving lines, the fabrics on board are by Loro Piana Interiors, and the hull is an original burnished petrol blue colour with a mustard beauty stripe.

Congratulations to the crew on Singularis for placing third in the Nantucket Bluefin Blast on September 19th! 590 tuna were released in the tournament, and Singularis ended the day with 31 bluefin releases to secure third place. Singularis made the most of their time fishing up north; the crew scored big with a 700 pound catch just a few days after the tournament. The bluefin tuna was 108 inches long and put up a 2.5 hour fight.

Bering Teams Up with Trasco Bremen
Bering Yachts and Trasco Bremen, the worlds leading commercial builder of armoured vehicles with over 35 years of experience, are proud to announce a collaboration for protecting specific areas aboard Bering explorer yachts. The aim of the partnership is to provide discerning owners with comfort and autonomy combined with added on-board safety so they and their families can cruise remote locations with complete peace of mind. Steel-hulled Bering yachts are already renowned for their rugged construction, but shielding the most critical areas with bullet proof materials such as the wheelhouse or engine room, as well as vital machinery or the navigational, communication and alarm systems offers ultimate protection against unwanted intrusion.

Evo Yachts Boat Builder Award Finalist
At the 2021 Boat Builder Awards Evo Yacht and Besenzoni make to the final thanks to an amazing teamwork. The two Italian Companies are among the finalists at the 2021 Boat Builder Awards, in the category "Collaborative Solutions between Boat or Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner". The jury was favorably impressed by the result of this collaboration that led, on board the new Evo V8, to the development of new tailor-made solutions that are both aestetically pleasant and incredibly effective. Starting from already existing product offered by Besenzoni, shipyard and designer Valerio Rivellini managed to create new solutions, and event customize some of the products, to adapt them to the yachts peculiar design. Winners will be announced on November 17th, during the Amsterdam METS 2021, but for the two Companies this final is already an incredible recognition, celebrating the amazing results that can be achieved when two nautical excellences come together to collaborate.

Feadship Refit Services Busy Winter Ahead
In a huge milestone for the Refit and Services programme that Feadship officially began offering in 2018, at least ten yachts are arriving in the Netherlands for a winter season of refurbishments, upgrades and renovations at the four Feadship yards. To most of the yachts originally built by Feadship, it will be a homecoming, as wherever practical the yachts will return to the yards of their launch. Some vessels are yachts from other northern European yards whose owners are also Feadship clients, according to Pier Posthuma de Boer, Refit Services Director. These projects will bring updates to yachts as new as the well-traveled 2018 Sherpa and the hard-working Gallant Lady launched in 1996. Work booked ranges from routine service and warranty work or class-required surveys to major refits to systems and interiors, says Posthuma de Boer.

Ferretti Group Record Breaking September
Ferretti Groups incredible 2021 continues with a record-breaking September and an order intake in the first three quarters of the year exceeding 900 million euros, of which over 220 million in September alone. Strong growth is reported in steel and aluminium superyachts, built at the Ancona Superyacht Yard, rewarding the Riva and Pershing superyacht projects and confirming CRN as one of the most active players in the segment. Ferretti Group delivered over 160 boats from January to September 2021, including the spectacular Riva Fifty. 50 metres long, M/Y Fifty was developed by the Riva Superyacht Division to offer an outstanding cruising experience defined by comfort, attention to detail and an evolved vision of life at sea: values that have made Riva a legendary name in international yachting for the last 179 years. 2021 for Ferretti Group is like one of those wonderful films that make you dream from beginning to end, commented Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. It got off to a great start and is continuing to deliver spectacular results, with great plot twists like this outstanding performance put in by steel and aluminium superyachts. But the excitement isnt over yet, with a few more months of nice surprises ahead and what is bound to be a grand finale.

Frauscher Representation in Ibiza
The Frauscher shipyard has a new partner in Ibiza. Haller Experiences specialises in rental and sale of day cruiser and water toys. From spring 2022, Haller Experiences will expand its exclusive charter fleet with a Frauscher 1212 Ghost and two Frauscher 1414 Demon Air. Johannes Haller, founder and managing director of Haller Experiences: "We offer individual and unique experiences in Ibiza and Formentera. With Frauscher boats, our portfolio takes on a new quality in terms of elegance and comfort that our customers will appreciate." Stefan Frauscher, Frauscher shipyard: "In Haller Experiences we have found a perfect partner who is, just like Frauscher, committed to innovation. Our mission is to set standards in international boat building. To achieve this, our engineers regularly fuse new technologies with contemporary design and living craftsmanship traditions." The young team around Johannes Haller turns charter trips into an experience. The cooperation with Frauscher was therefore a logical step, as unforgettable experiences are also the goal of the "engineers of emotions". With the 1414 Demon Air, they impressively prove it: on deck, the 14-metre long offshore yacht has an inviting lounge area with bar and a spacious bathing platform. Inside the yacht there is a large seating area with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a cabin in which up to four people can stay overnight.
Frauscher Comes to Denmark
The Frauscher Shipyard is pleased to announce it has an agent in Ishøj, Denmark. As of now, the experienced yacht broker Tempo Bådsalg will include the Frauscher brand in its product range. Starting next season, test drives of the 858 Fantom Air will be possible for any Danes who are interested. Stewart Moeliker-Twigg, Tempo Bådsalg: "Our goal has always been to sell top quality products combined with fantastic performance. When the Frauscher Shipyard came knocking at our door, a collaboration was obvious to us - especially since we already have a Frauscher 1017 GT and a 1017 GT Air on site." Stefan Frauscher, Frauscher Shipyard: "We are proud to have found a professional partner in Northern Europe with Tempo Bådsalg, who also supports our philosophy. This is an important step in the expansion of our distribution network." Tempo Bådsalg is one of Denmark's leading yacht dealers. The dedicated service and experienced sales team working alongside managing directors Stewart Moeliker-Twigg, Gert Sørensen and Henrik Jørgensen have been fulfilling customers' nautical dreams for over thirty years. The company's infrastructure includes its own harbour with 120 berths, a crane, 2,000 m2 of exhibition space and a winter storage facility. The addition of Frauscher to their portfolio was a logical step towards continuing to meet the highest of customer needs in the future. After all, the mission of the Frauscher Shipyard is to set standards in international boatbuilding at an international level. In order to achieve this the engineers at the family-run Austrian boat manufacturer regularly blend new technologies with contemporary design and living traditions in craftsmanship.

Horizon Next Level Construction and Testing
The Horizon Group continues to pioneer the evolution of advanced composite yacht construction as the worlds first and only yacht builder to implement a variety of Non-Destructive-Testing (NDT) methods. For two decades, Horizon has been pioneering the advancement of composite yacht construction through the efforts of its subsidiary Atech Composites. Founded in 2000, Atech specializes in advanced composites, producing not only the hull, decks and superstructure of every Horizon yacht, but also providing Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) components across multiple industries in Asia and beyond. Atech has been behind such notable achievements as the world-record infusion of a 140ft yacht hull in a single shot and many award-winning cross-industry composite components from wind turbine blades to high-speed rail cars. In 2004, Atech developed an improved 3D resin infusion technology that transforms the original 2D resin flow on surfaces to 3D flow, which climbs up and down internal stiffeners, enabling the build of far larger structures than previously possible.

0comments October 28, 2021 Out-News = Ferretti Yacht Partially Sinks in South Corsica

A Ferretti motor yacht of nineteen meters in length partially sank on the late afternoon of August 11 on the East of Piana island. The Ferretti motor yacht was cruising in the South of Corsica between Lavezzi and Cavallo near about to isola Piana when apparently it started taking on water. The dynamics of the water intrusion are unclear, but seeing this the captain of the yacht called a May-Day and beached the yacht to minimize the damage. The Ferretti yacht was a day later reported to have been re-floated and taken to a yacht yard for repairs. The Ferretti in this accident is a 620 model, designed by Zuccon and launched in 2000 and produced till 2005. The 620 was the last development of the 54/175/60 model, the Ferretti which in 1990 started the Giovanni Zuccon collaboration with the Forli Shipyard lasting till 2017. In 1997 the 175 was developed and extended in the 62, and in 2000 with a complete redesign of the super structure and interior layout it became the 620. The Ferretti 620 offered a three double cabins interior including an owners stateroom to starboard at midships. With the 175, 62, and 620 series Ferretti and Zuccon created possibly one of the most iconic sports flybridge motor yachts of its time, thanks to the unique low profile top sides and very masculine hull look. The Ferretti 620 was standard powered by twin Man 1050hp engines and or optional 1224hp, with the later reaching top speeds up to 36 knots.

0commentsNew Model: Viking 64 Convertible

Just ahead of the 2021 Fort Lauderdale boat show, Viking has launched its new 64 Convertible, a sportfish yacht just short of twenty meters in length, following the latest evolution and the New Jersey builder dominance in the sportfish yacht segment upward of fifteen meters in size. Particularly in this size of sixty footers, Viking has in the past twenty years presented eight models and delivered 550 yachts. Those are some impressive numbers to behold by any yacht builder, let alone a segment which has its core market located for the most part in North America. The 64 Convertible brings comfort and a turnkey sportfishing yacht, with an internal layout offering four cabins three shower heads, and two versions to choose from. 0comments October 26, 2021 New Model: Pershing 6X

Can you improve perfection? Definitely yes, and this is what Pershing has done with the new 6X, the fifth model to come of the X-series which arrived in 2016, and fourth generation of a hull which is over fifteen years old. Yes the Pershing 6X, is an evolution of what was born as the 56 in 2005, then evolving in the 58 in 2011, becoming the 62 in 2013 and now in this new 2021 version becomes the 6X. Designed by Fulvio de Simoni, the Pershing 6X is the least X of the fives, missing the wings which characterize all other four models. She is in fact a soft design evolution of the 62, with changes coming in the hard-top design now extended further aft, and the top sides windows having a tad different and larger profile. Other improvements happen in both the sun-pad and social areas, with the fore deck now extended to use more space, including the edition of two chaise lounges further forward. Other aesthetic changes is the edition of large glaze windows on hull sides now larger and same to the other X-models design. For the remaining the 6X keeps the same interior layout as the 62 with the choice of two or three cabins in the lower deck, with changes in details and colours. Performance as is Pershing since over thirty years is fast, with the 6X reaching top speeds up to 48 knots with twin Man 1550hp engines couple to Top System surface drives.Technical Data:LOA - 18.94 m (62.2ft)Hull Length - 18.4 mWaterline Length - 14.6 mBeam - 4.80mDraft - 1.45 mDisplacement - 34000 kg unloaded, 40000 kg loadedFuel Capacity - 3200 lWater Capacity - 740 lAccommodation - six berths in three cabins, or four berths in two cabins, one crew cabin berthEngines - 2 x Man V12 1550hpPropulsion - Top System surface drivesSpeed - 48 knots max 42 knots cruiseRange - 280 nautical miles at cruiseProject - Fulvio de Simoni, Ferretti Group engineering naval architecturewww.pershing-yacht.com

0comments October 25, 2021 Project: Absolute 56 Fly

The result of engineering innovation, Italian design and a passion for details, enters the latest project by Absolute the Piacenza-based shipyard is called 56 Fly. Featuring a strong, confident personality, 56 Fly was created to be noticed and to fascinate boat owners with a proven mix of comfort and fine design, but also innovation, functionality and on-board convenience. Charisma encapsulates the essence of Absolutes new craft, which brings together and builds on the most successful features of previous boats. With 56 Fly, Absolute has undertaken intense Research and Design work to enhance those hallmarks, including the revolution of the Flybridge Generation 2022 that began with the 60 Fly launched in 2021, which introduced a new construction approach developed to ensure freedom of movement, ultimate versatility and liveability. Along with a relaxing bow area with sun loungers and sofa, the outer aft areas are free of fixed elements, so they can be easily furnished as desired. To meet all needs, Absolute provides modular, versatile décor solutions for the entire range. The visual boundaries between the boat and the sea vanish thanks to a transparent parapet in the cockpit, the open gunwales and the large windows with electric winder in the lounge area. The magnetic personality of 56 FLY is also expressed in its interiors, featuring comfortable, modern spaces, inspired by Absolutes signature focus on ease of use. Liveability culminates in a full beam owners cabin at the bow, designed to provide ultimate privacy and comfort, but also an outstanding view through panoramic windows; its interiors are embellished with sophisticated design, transparent details between cabin and bathroom and textural contrasts. As spacious as a second owners cabin, the VIP cabin is also full beam. The sleeping area is completed by a third full-feature cabin with single beds, complete with every comfort and with the same ceiling height as the other cabins. Freedom of movement is the common thread throughout the interiors, connected by sliding doors and enhanced by surprisingly large windows for breath-taking morning views, with plenty of natural light flooding into the cabins. There are numerous stowage areas to improve comfort in the sleeping area as in the living area, which also features a contemporary kitchen. No power details are given for the Absolute 56 Fly as yet.www.absoluteyachts.com 0comments Older PostsHomeSubscribe to:Posts (Atom)Featured PostWeb: Mimi New Web SiteTranslateSearch PowerYachtBlogBlog Archive 2021(269) November(2)New Model: Solace 415 CSblogger - Supply Chain Issues October(34) September(36) August(42) July(38) June(21) May(23) April(20) March(17) February(19) January(17) 2020(358) December(28) November(32) October(33) September(37) August(35) July(35) June(25) May(20) April(19) March(35) February(30) January(29) 2019(376) December(29) November(32) October(32) September(34) August(35) July(36) June(29) May(31) April(29) March(32) February(28) January(29) 2018(345) December(26) November(30) October(32) September(29) August(23) July(31) June(30) May(30) April(29) March(30) February(27) January(28) 2017(355) December(27) November(47) October(50) September(26) August(23) July(30) June(27) May(26) April(26) March(25) February(24) January(24) 2016(315) December(27) November(43) October(52) September(42) August(23) July(19) June(17) May(19) April(18) March(19) February(18) January(18) 2015(237) December(18) November(19) October(27) September(27) August(21) July(18) June(16) May(18) April(18) March(17) February(18) January(20) 2014(323) December(20) November(18) October(37) September(46) August(33) July(28) June(16) May(17) April(18) March(30) February(29) January(31) 2013(365) December(29) November(30) October(35) September(35) August(32) July(31) June(28) May(30) April(29) March(30) February(28) January(28) 2012(398) December(26) November(30) October(42) September(43) August(35) July(42) June(30) May(30) April(28) March(29) February(32) January(31) 2011(502) December(35) November(45) October(64) September(55) August(40) July(54) June(36) May(36) April(32) March(39) February(31) January(35) 2010(567) December(43) November(52) October(66) September(59) August(44) July(40) June(33) May(46) April(46) March(55) February(42) January(41) 2009(560) December(45) November(63) October(66) September(54) August(38) July(49) June(40) May(43) April(38) March(45) February(41) January(38) 2008(313) December(25) November(40) October(52) September(30) August(23) July(29) June(17) May(21) April(21) March(20) February(16) January(19) 2007(207) December(23) November(29) October(30) September(27) August(19) July(25) June(23) May(11) April(12) March(8)Selected LabelsAmericas Cup(23)blogger(146)Boat Review(35)Boat Show(79)Class 1(96)Classics(2)Consult(1)Engine(75)Exclusive(640)Explorer Cruiser(106)Explorer Yacht(240)Improve-it(247)INBUILD(30)Interview(2)Legends(40)Motor Cruiser(200)Motor Yacht(536)New Model(2080)NEWS(206)Out-News(124)Power Catamaran(60)Powerboat Endurance(92)Project(1797)Projects(141)Propulsion(28)Rib Cruiser(32)Rib Yacht(17)SPECIAL(11)Sport Cruiser(842)Sport Yacht(628)Sportfish Cruiser(142)Sportfish Yacht(182)Super Sport Yacht(187)Super Sportfish(39)Super Yacht(913)Traditional Cruiser(218)Traditional Yacht(145)Web(253)Yacht Builder Story(252)Top World Boat ShowsDusseldorf Germany - 18 to 26 JanuaryMiami USA - 13 to 17 FebruaryDubai UAE - 26 Feb to 2 MarchSplit Croatia - 11 to 15 AprilSydney Australia - 2 to 6 AugustCannes France - 8 to 13 SeptemberSouthampton UK - 14 to 23 SeptemberGenova Italy - 20 to 25 SeptemberBarcellona Spain - 10 to 14 OctoberLauderdale USA - 31 Oct to 5 November
