The company I work for started out small and has grown increasingly larger in just ten year s time. Management does what they can to keep employees happy within reason. Last year, I helped the vice president of the company figure out what type of corporate party entertainment we should have last December at our first annual Christmas party. The event was a hit with everyone who talked about it to us about it for many weeks afterward. We plan to do it again this next year as well. I was one of the first ten employees hired to work at my company. It s interesting to work for a company from the beginning because it gives you the insight to see which things worked well and which things didn t. I ve watched the company grow each year, and I really hope to stay with the company over the long haul. I am the vice president s assistant, and I enjoy all the tasks that are given to me. Read the rest of this entry I had to call a Nassau County tree service company after a severe wind storm came through and damaged a lot of trees. It even knocked over a 100-year-old maple tree that was one of my favorites. I didn t call them right away. I thought the downed branches and toppled trees were something I could take care of myself. Well, after being outside for almost two hours attempting to clean up the mess and trim the trees, you couldn t tell I had been out there doing anything at all. To say I was frustrated is an understatement. As soon as I recovered from being overheated I took to the computer to search for a tree service company that could finish the job for me.It didn t take me too long to find one that offered tree removal and pruning. The company I found has been in business for decades which is a very good sign in my eyes. They are a locally owned and operated small business. Read the rest of this entry I used to work a job for a paycheck. They took out all the taxes. I was young and did not have any fancy deductions or any business expenses. Then, I started working for myself. I started a business, and I did not even know it. I took on a couple of jobs on my own on the side. I remember getting my first 1099-misc. Then, all of a sudden, I am buying tax software to be able to figure out how to do a Schedule C and the long form 1040 for my taxes. I had deductions. I was the boss. I felt like I was in over my head.I was able to do the work that people wanted in such a satisfying way to them that they told their friends, colleagues and neighbors that I did a great job. I was so happy to see that there were so many other people that were willing to help her within our circle of family and friends. I wanted to be able to help her without having to worry about being far away, so I got our cousin to help because she lived in Chicago, where my sister was getting married. She had no problem finding Chicago wedding videographers that were willing to live up to all the things my sister wanted to make sure was recorded on her special day. Read the rest of this entry My great-grandmother was one to always be prepared. She had all of her ducks in a row for that day she knew would eventually come. She lived to almost 100. She made all the arrangements for her own funeral back when she buried our great-grandfather. She said she did not want anyone arguing over the arrangements. However, she did leave the choice of the monument to the family. She never put up a headstone for Gramps. She said we could put one up after she was gone. We were looking at monuments in Newark NJ we thought were fitting for our great-grandparents. My grandparents and parents left it to us to make the choice. Read the rest of this entry I have had the same type of rugs in my house for over twenty years. They are woven and are made by hand and thus are of amazing quality. I love the way that the carpets are weathered and from what I hear, people are actually paying for the look of older and distressed carpets. I could not imagine paying for my rug to look like it does but I do love the way it look as is. I had gotten the rugs in Beverly Hills at a great little boutique rug store where a lot of my friends in the area had gotten theirs and I loved the way that I was treated at the store. Read the rest of this entry It is really hard to not feel well when you are on vacation. I knew that I wanted to spend time with my friends when I was visiting them but they told me that they were worried that I was not feeling well. I told them that I would rest the first day I got there in bed so I would be ready to go out and I also went and found an urgent care in Rocklin CA where I was able to go in the morning and I was really happy that they gave me a bag full of fluids to help me perk up and it was just what I needed since the flight was delayed for ten hours and I had to wait another five to get on the airplane, then it was a coast to coast flight. I was so tired but they knew just what I needed to feel better in a short amount of time.In order to be sure that we were going to be able to go and have a party that night I was telling the nurse that I had to have some sort of fluids as I knew what it felt like to be dehydrated so she also had the doctor order a blood test so that they could see what everything looked like. I also had them to a urine to see how dehydrated I was and they said that they were going to order it anyways and I was so happy that it was a great thing to happen. Friends also came to see me while I was in the urgent care for an hour to make sure that I was okay and going to be able to get back to the hotel without them, and that was so nice. I always thought that a really good mechanical gaming keyboard would be wireless, mainly because of the convenience of being able to move around with it. I learned that the wired keyboards are actually better though because there is better control and more reliability with them. I decided before I buy one that I should spend some time learning what makes one particular gaming keyboard better than the others out there, because I did not want to make a mistake since they are not super cheap. I don t mind spending the money on a good keyboard, but I did want to make sure that it was the right one for what I wanted it for. Read the rest of this entry I will never forget the first time I got into a car accident. I was scared and I did not know what I was going to do about the accident. I remember getting out and I went to the side of the road and told the man that I was sorry I hit the back of his car. He had an older car than mine and I remember him saying that he was going to sue me. I had to wait for my insurance collision estimator training to come to the place where his car was towed so that they could tell me how much they were going to have to pay out to the auto body place. Read the rest of this entry When a person is overweight, they are typically not ignorant to the fact that they need to lose weight. I think if it was something that is easy to do, obesity would not even exist in our world today. Since it does though, and I was having a hard time with my own excess pounds, I knew that I finally needed to get some help. It was obvious that I just was not able to do this on my own. It did not take me long before I found a medical spa in Rocklin that was able to help me with exactly what I needed.When I thought of the word spa before, I always thought of something very luxurious that had to do with massages, manicures and just being pampered in general. Read the rest of this entry I woke up last week with the most awful pain in my mouth. I could not pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, and I thought it was my sinuses acting up at first. It did not take too long before I knew that it was definitely just one of my teeth, and I needed to get to a dentist in Roseville CA as soon as possible. The only problem was, I had never been to a dentist here. I moved here almost a year ago, so I already knew that I should have been an established patient at one of the many dental practices around here.That is just one of those things I kept meaning to do, but it fell off my radar more times than once. Read the rest of this entry I knew when I was moving into my new apartment that I was going to have to paint the walls. I was not going to be able to live with all white walls on every single wall in the apartment. I was talking to my friends about how I should paint my walls since my landlord told me it was okay to do so. I had a friend paint her walls when she moved to Parc Esta and she was able to paint her walls all these cool colors that were going to make her walls pop. I thought that it was funny she wanted to paint her walls cool colors like purple, but I thought that it may be a problem later on when she was going to move out and they did the final walk through, if you paint those types of colors it could be hard to paint over and it could cost you some of your security deposit.I did not want to be one of the people that was going to go and tell her that it could cost her money because she was truly in her happy place. I had never seen anyone in my life use the paint colors she did in her new house. I think that it really compliments her outgoing and zany personality but there comes a point when you go and say that it is a little too much. She is an art teacher and I really don t think that she is going to have a problem covering up all those colors with a white primer that would take care of it in a couple coats. She lives for the times when she can go and paint and make a big difference with the wow factor and she did it this time. One of the things that I remember most about my mom when I was a kid is how much she loved to get fancied up. That was her term for it, and I grew to love those times. As I got older, she would help me look my best too, whether I was just going to school, to a dance, or out on a date with someone. Now that she is older and not able to get out as much as she could before, I have hired a mobile hairdresser in Melbourne eastern suburbs to go to her house once a month and get her fancied up for a girls day out. When I was just a young girl and not able to do my own hair, my mom would take care of it for me. She would cut it at times, and she would always style it beautifully for me. That is why I wanted her to continue to help me as I got older. Now that she can no longer do her own hair quite so good, I knew that I had to find someone to help her out. Read the rest of this entry It turns out that I am not too bad at coaching kids, although I really did not learn this by my own desires. I was working at a restaurant, in fact I had been doing this off and on since before I went to college. The job was better than you expect once I got to wait tables, since it was an expensive place and that made the tips bigger. My boss got me to coach his kid s soccer team, since he knew that I was good at that. I just now got in the pro socks for the team, they were designed to match the uniforms and they also promote the restaurant. Read the rest of this entry By far, one of the most creative and funny things I ve seen is socks with your dogs face on them. It s so simple that anyone could have thought of it, but I never did, and many other people didn t. It s something that I didn t know I wanted until I actually saw a pair. My dog is one of the cutest dogs on the planet, and I would be proud to have his face on my socks. I just had to order some, so I got three pairs in three different colors to wear when I go out and around the house.I wore the socks to my parent s home. I ve had the pot for a month now and anything I throw at it will cook. I wanted to give the pot a challenge, so I looked up something that would probably not be normally made in such a pot. I found a recipe for a cheesecake and decided to try that. I had never heard of anyone making cheesecake in anything except for an oven, so this one was really going to impress me if it actually worked.I bought some ingredients for the test and followed the recipe instructions to the letter. Obviously most of the really big ideas have been taken and it would require slugging it out with giants if you wanted to do most types of e commerce. Today I was looking at this web page which said something like Gen Z agency and it claimed that it was content for kids by kids. I got to thinking about a similar concept, one where there would be some interactive elements. That is important when you think about what I want. The idea is that you need to have a lot of traffic, obviously because that is how you get ad revenue and there are a lot of ways to get there if you think about it. Obviously you need something that people are interested in for a theme, sports or politics for example. Read the rest of this entry My wife and I volunteer at a senior center here in the city. We both have a heart for the elderly because we were raised to respect all people. It seems that the older a person becomes in our society, the more they are ignored for the most part. My wife and I wanted to make sure that we did in our part in making sure they know their value. We go on at least one trip a month with them using transport services in Singapore because we don t limit ourselves to things right on the block that they are on.We want them to experience things just like they did when they were younger. My husband had been working out of town for nearly a year now, and he would come home on weekends and every now and again during the week. We did it this way because we thought that the job was only going to be temporary, so we did not want to uproot everything. Now that we are though, I did a search for post tenancy cleaning in Singapore because I knew I did not have enough time do handle everything on my own. Read the rest of this entry My toughest classes in school were all about math. Not the concepts and theories of math. Just working the problems. I perplexed my teachers in that I understood theories but had trouble with the problems. I had the same trouble in physics when it came to working out specific problems. I could ask questions about science topics to satisfy my curiosity that were quite advanced. Then I would have trouble with some of the fundamentals on tests. My teacher suggested physics tuition to my parents. She told them that my mind was jumping ahead in thinking about scientific possibilities without getting grounded in fundamentals first.I did need to understand more of the basics in order to make better connections with the advanced stuff that was always on my mind.
