Just got back from a superb week in Arendal, a small cosy fishing village south of Norway, beeing invited to curate my own part of the festival.

Had the pleasure of inviting Such fantastic artists as Nana Vasconcelos, Michael Mainieri, Arild Andersen, Sidsel Endresen, Erik Truffax, Ilhan Ersahin, Joaquin Claussell, Audn Kleive, Kirsten Bråten Berg and more.

We all spent a wonderful week down there combining music with sailing, swimming and wonderful food. and the weather....!

 

Seriously hope to continue this adeventure next year, and hope to see you all down there again!

Certainly one of the nicests spots having a festival..

Concluded also supernice visits to Lviv-Ukraine,Aalesund, Blue Note Tokyo, Kongsberg Jazzfestival, Ludwigsburg Sclossfestspiele, Montreux Jazz, Garana Jazz and Jazz enlacosta, Spain.

What we do need is Good Music!

Strong music played by dedicated talented artists is the exact opposite of hate and violence. I strongly believe in music as worldwide key elements in peace and understanding among people and cultures. I have been so fotunate this year to start up a new band "Ok World" bringing together talented musicians from all over the world projecting just that.  Peace Love and Understanding. We are sceduled for a world premiere at Oslo World Music Festival in November.Looking forward! Have also been so fortunate to produce albums for both  Hong Kongnese superstar Karen Mok along with amazing Asian Jazzmusicians and wonderful Mid Eastern Vocalist Rim Banna and Palestinian, Tunisian musicians.

It is like a dream come through to travel around meeting such amazing people all with the same goal. Make good music. Thank you!

Kirkelig Kulturverksted are one of scandinavias true jewels when it comes to music and quality. Beautiful crossovers between worldmusic, folk, blues, classical and Jazz. Specialties in mid eastern music. As an oppose to the Bush(IDIOT!) evil of axis, producer Erik Hilestad crossed those borders finding nothing but love, warmness, hope and a deeply rooted culture.
