Currently we are closed due to Covid restrictions, but the Museum is planning to partially re-open in June. Nightingale’s legacy has never been more relevant: she founded modern nursing and instigated Wash Your Hands and cleanliness regimes. Our web shop continues to ship to customers worldwide with a fantastic range of souvenirs, or gifts to say thanks to a healthcare professional. The review was designed to protect the Museum and its collections for the long term. If changes are not made now, the Museum will become financially insolvent before markets recover and visitors return in significant numbers.We have received generous support from individual donors, as well as DCMS, the Art Fund, Arts Council England and National Heritage Lottery Fund and for the foreseeable future we plan to open from June 2021 for the first full weekend of every month.  Projected visitor numbers do not make opening full time financially viable.Full details of the restructure can be found hereWhile the museum may be closed until June, we’re still open online with loads of articles, videos, quizzes and more about the Lady with the Lamp .
