All players are registered with AAU's Extended coverage. Not only does this allow players to compete in AAU tournaments but it also offers additional insurance. All Hornet coaches are registered with AAU and have received AAU's Coaches certification. AAU Membership Hornet Elite and some Hornet club coaches are certified with USA Basketball. Elite Players also will register as a team if they are going to compete in USA Basketball Tournament during the season. USA Basketball Recreation/Development Very beginning level. No experience. Spend most of the practice working on fundamentals and having fun while learning core skills. Club Teams Have a good understanding of the game. Understand Fundamentals and can dribble with both hands. Practice 2-3 times a week and are expected to practice at home 4-5 times a week. Have 2-3 tournaments per week. Elite Teams 1 out of 30 players will make to the Elite Team. This requires dedication on the court and off of the court. Most ELITE players average 1-3 hrs of practice every day of the week. Yes, that is correct 7 days a week they are working on developing into the best of the best. This requires a significant amount of time on the players and the parents.
