This was pursuant to a trend called #BlackoutTuesday, in which the participants signified their acknowledgement of two extremely obvious points: that #BlackLivesMatter, and something about the George Floyd protests was worthy of some measure of pause. Beyond that, there was no sign of a meaningful consensus, either as to the cause of the problem or what was to be done about it, and no consensus at all other than a broad acknowledgement that racism is bad and shouldn’t be tolerated.
