One sunny afternoon with an off shore breeze, I was gaining on the vessel ahead of me. This is when I eyed the crew trying, to no avail, to do whatever they could to squeeze a few more knots out of her. I suppose they knew the inevitable, as I witnessed them stowing the rum and hiding their women! I was setting up my approach to board, when the vessel came about in a terrific jibe! It caught me be surprise and I only had seconds before their guns came to bear.Hopes of taking the rum and women from this captain was not going to be easy. As we passed gunwale to gunwale, I could see that the captain was in a foul mood! However, I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed he didn't have any guns at all, and that we were actually in the friendly waters of Lake Huron, Michigan. All of this was in my imagination. However, it did not keep me from yelling to the captain.. "I will give you five minutes, then I am coming for your women and rum! He scowled at me once more... then smiled.Now, back in my comfy home port of Bark Shanty in Port Sanilac, Michigan, I sit back and relax while I watch all the wasted seamen... wasted seamen that make me laugh.
