Description:

Retreat at Camp Covecrest Covecrest is more than a retreat center and summer camp. Covecrest is a community of Catholics committed to transforming teens, transforming parishes, and transforming culture. Will you join us? Retreat at Camp Hidden Lake Hidden Lake is home to an incredible Catholic community, gorgeous views, welcoming meeting spaces and so much more. Dedicated to leading teens closer to Christ, we hope you'll be welcomed home to Hidden Lake soon. Steubenville Conferences The Steubenville Youth Conferences, an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville, are a series of conferences across North America that help teens encounter the love of Christ every summer. Life Teen hosts six Steubenville Youth Conferences with the hopes of strengthening and inspiring teens and youth groups in their collective journeys to Christ. Catholic Youth Ministry Convention Life Teen’s Catholic Youth Ministry Convention has become America’s premier event for everyone involved in parish youth ministry. Why? Maybe it’s because we are different. We believe in practical, comprehensive youth ministry training. But we don’t think that’s enough. That’s why we incorporate elements of a spiritual retreat into the training convention. Because youth ministry isn’t about what you know, it’s Who you know. I Choose the Sky There are many women who are a vital part of salvation history and their stories are critical parts of Sacred Scripture. This scriptural devotion will inspire young women to raise their heads along with Mary, Martha, Lydia, and Esther and look into the eyes of Jesus, the God who loves deeply and perfectly. True North You are going to make thousands of decisions today and one of them might change your life. Are you confident that what you want and what God want are the same thing? Don’t leave it up to chance - leave it in the hands of the Holy Spirit. Life Teen Life Teen strengthens our teens' Catholic identity, while rooting them firmly in Christ and in His Church. Leading TeensCloser To ChristA Message From Life Teen President Randy RausAs the movement of Life Teen, we are outraged, saddened, and grief-stricken by the horrific deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and too many others, and by the division and violence across our country. We believe that racism is a life issue. It is a disregard for human life and an ongoing danger that must be met directly. As members of the Church, we are called to stand up against injustice so that we might not embrace indifference. As Catholics, we cannot turn our eyes away from these atrocities and still profess to respect human life. We serve a God of love, mercy, and justice. With that comes the responsibility to love, to show mercy, and to seek justice. We stand committed to continuing this conversation with young people as we believe real change can happen, and that God is still working miracles today. We have previously developed a resource called “At the Table” to help you and your teens discuss this important topic, and we are offering it for free on our website at this time — https://lifeteen.com/cym/resource/at-the-tableWe pray for an end to racism, and an end to the violence in the wake of this tragedy. We pray for comfort for grieving families and friends. We pray for peace across the United States. We pray that through these trying days, real change will happen. Finally, we beg God to heal our deeply flawed views of each other. As Jesus said, “By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). Let us love one another.Mother Mary, Pray for us!Randy RausLife Teen President / CEOLife Teen Summer Camps! We have made the decision to kick off summer camps at Covecrest and Hidden Lake only on July 6th!The health and safety of our campers is our #1 priority. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we think it is important that you understand our efforts to manage your campers’ health and safety so that you can make an informed decision. Life Teen is focusing on ensuring that we are complying with all summer camp guidelines set forth by the state of GA, as well as taking all reasonable measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our camps. All campers will be required to test negative for COVID-19 within a week of coming to camp.We will divide groups into groups of no more than 20 and maintain social distancing between groups while at camp.We will be taking measures to monitor and address symptomatic campers by introducing a pre-camp health screen, daily temperature checks, and protocols to isolate, confirm, respond, and remove any camper or staff suspected to have COVID-19.All away days will be eliminated, and no one will be allowed to leave camp property without being retested for COVID-19.We are strengthening our standard cleaning procedures, including increasing the frequency of wiping down common touch points, dining hall areas, and activity equipment. We received guidelines from the State of Georgia that includes measures that match Life Teen’s COVID-19 Camps Response Plan.In consultation with our staff and board of directors, we feel confident that a group attending the weeks of summer camp this summer will have one of the best weeks ever. While our programming will be adapted and meeting and dining rooms will be marked for group sizes, we believe that it will be a Life Teen and EDGE Camp experience that you’ve come to expect! After a lot of prayer and feedback from many of you (including parents) still wanting us to host camps, we feel that now more than ever teens need to be able to attend summer camps.Looking at the amount of preparation we will need to make summer camps a reality and realizing that many of your parishes are just starting to open up again, we are going to kick off summer camps at Covecrest and Hidden Lake only on July 6th! So here are the actual weeks we will host Summer Camps in Georgia! What is Life Teen?Life Teen is a movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. Taking Steps Toward Anti-RacismBy: Life TeenAnti-racism is defined as the policy or practice of opposing racism and promoting racial tolerance. If this sounds like something that should have always been happening, that’s because it should have. But it hasn’t. And the Church and her members have failed to be the prominent voice in this work.Read More What Taking God s Name in Vain Really MeansBy: Dillon DukeJesus might be the answer to our problems and worries, but invoking the name of our Lord as a way to defend sinful actions, or even avoid responsibility for them all together, is never the right response.Read More Making Your at-Home Prayer SpaceBy: Nick BernardWe as a Church know the importance of creating beautiful spaces in which to meet God. But, in this season, many of us are not able to worship in the spaces of our home parishes, and even praying privately in those spaces might look rather different. Making a space to pray at home then becomes all the more important.Read More View All Life Teen Blogs
