Lindsay NortonCatering Director for Valley Hospitality and It’s Your Day CateringLindsay joined the Valley Hospitality team as an Assistant General Manager of the Fife and Drum restaurant in 2007, located in the National Infantry Museum. Since then, she has advanced and refined her skills as an event planner, designer and executer working as a Catering Manager. Lindsay is now responsible for developing the individual catering departments at each of our local venues and the It’s Your Day Catering brand.Lindsay uses her sense of style and warm personality to keep clients at ease and her attention to detail and organizational skills make each event successful from beginning to end.“My goal is to make each event innovative and special. I like to push the limits with the Chef and Event Manager to make every detail polished, but unique. I want my clients to feel proud of the event they hosted and be able to enjoy the occasion themselves.”Currently, Lindsay resides in Harris County, Georgia with her daughter, Isabelle and husband, Nate. When she is not working she spends her time at a local CrossFit gym, coaching Elementary school cheerleading, decorating her home, or cooking in the kitchen. Ginger has been in Food Beverage for nine years. Ginger joined the Valley Hospitality Team in 2012 as an Assistant General Manager with Houlihans at the Downtown Marriott. She literally crossed over from the proverbial “dark side” to the “greener side of the fence” after working for ten years as a Health Inspector in Georgia and Colorado. Ginger has established herself as a person that can make it happen. She prides herself in taking her client’s dreams and making them a reality. Attention to detail and the ability to think outside of the box make her events unique, memorable, and full of her very own special added touches. Her desire is for her clients to want to think of a reason to host their next event before the one that is currently being planned has ended.Ginger spends her free time with her husband, Kyle and their two children, Luke (5) and Norah (3). The Suprises stay busy with gymnastics, soccer, dance, and baseball. They also enjoy swimming, traveling, and in rare quiet moments Ginger picks up a great book and enjoys the moment with a glass of red wine. Katy ZimmermanBanquet Manager at the Doubletree by HiltonKaty joined the Valley Hospitality team as a Banquet Bartender in June 2012 at the National Infantry Museum. Shortly after working there she was promoted to Banquet Captain and then to her current job as a Banquet Manager by 2014 at the Doubletree.“I want every event to be special for the guest. Although it may be the third party we have executed that day, it is their big moment and investment. I really enjoy at the end of an event when a client compliments us on how great everything was for them and the feeling of pride that comes over me. It is great when your staff makes you shine because it definitely is a team effort.”Katy resides in Columbus, Georgia with her son, Jacob and her yellow lab, Bella. She loves spending time with her son, boyfriend, and good friends enjoying life. When she is not at work you can find her at home watching Netflix, cooking for her family or curled up with a good book. Jennifer MasseyCatering Manager at the National Infantry MuseumJennifer joined the Valley Hospitality team as a Banquet Server in 2006 at the Columbus Marriott Downtown. Jennifer fell in love with banquets and began her quest to make it her career. With a focus in offsite catering, Jennifer grew her position and became the Offsite Supervisor for the next two years then was promoted to Banquet Manager for the National Infantry Museum. After five years of managing the events and staff of the Museum she was promoted to her current position as Catering Manager.Jennifer uses her years of experience to assist each client with hammering out each detail to make sure each event is seamless. Because she has worked so many positions within the banquet department she is able to offer great solutions for sometimes difficult events.Currently, Jennifer lives in Columbus, Georgia with her son, Bryson and their dog Emma. When she is not working Jennifer is hitting the mats at kickboxing class and spending time with her son who plays baseball and is learning martial arts. Heather NewkirkBanquet Manager at the National Infantry MuseumHeather began her career in the food and beverage industry fifteen years ago. Heather joined the Team in February, 2016. Heather first found her passion in Naples, Florida, catering for signature events, staff and unlimited celebrations.Heather has a keen eye for detail and is quick on her feet. Heather welcomes a challenge any day! She takes any curve balls thrown at her and hits them with ease. Her work is a strong reflection of her nuturing nature combined with her determination to create a unique special event, seamlessly brought together. She takes pride in having the opportunity to contribute towards any event that is going to mark a special moment in someone's life, someway, somehow. With Heather's charming upbeat personality, you can see that she strives for the best. She is always thrilled to go above and beyond to make her clients happy.Currently, Heather resides in Phenix City, Alabama with her son, Canaan. When she's not working, she spends her time with her family exploring new adventures and creating amazing memories with those she loves. Not only does she have the opportunity to pursue her passion for work, Heather is the heart behind the memorable get togethers with friends either by having a nice cookout, big dinner or just simply sitting out by a bonfire. You can see in Heather's smile that creating an amazing time for others is what drives her everyday. Liz joined the Valley Hospitality team as the Banquet Manager at the Columbus Marriott in 2011. Since then, Liz has developed a signature style and continues to challenge herself and her team to be innovative and creative.Liz is an upbeat planner and designer. Over the years she has built many wonderful relationships with guests and local planners that continue to trust her expertise in this ever-changing field.“My goals are to continue to push myself and my team to the next level. Every event should have over the top service and should all bring a different feel in terms of design; meaning every event should be unique, well thought-out, well-planned, and well-executed!”Currently, Liz resides in Phenix City, Alabama with her four children and husband, Charles Fields. When she is not working she spends ALL her time traveling and transporting around with her daughter Asia, for Marching Band; her son Manny, for Band and Basketball; her daughter, Taneaha, for JROTC; and her youngest daughter, Rockell, for gymnastics. If she finds a spare moment, she also enjoys walking her dog, Penny, decorating any and everything, and visiting thrift malls. Marcus McCullough Banquet Manager at the Marriott DowntownMarcus was hired to our team in the summer of 2010 as an on-call banquet server during his breaks from college in Daytona Beach, Florida. During his time working with us he discovered a passion for events. He then decided to change his major from Music Education to Hospitality Management. After completing all classes in 2015 Marcus returned to Columbus, Georgia eager to work in the banquet department. He was on a mission to move up in the department and shortly after graduating from Daytona State College with a degree in Hospitality Management he was promoted to Banquet Manager. Marcus’ new mission is to make sure each event is executed as planned and all clients are pleased and expectations are surpassed.While in college Marcus crafted his art for design by interning with well known event professionals in a plethora of areas from wedding photographers, event designers, planners and florists.In Marcus’ down time he enjoys dancing several styles, singing, playing tennis and spending time with his family. If you ever catch him alone you may just find him dancing to absolutely no music but the music in his head. Julia LeeEvent Manager at the Marriott DowntownJulia began her career as a Guest Service Representative at the Marriott downtown and quickly moved into Catering Sales Coordinator, and now her current position as the Event Manager.“The culmination of my work experience thus far, benefits my clients with them knowing that I’m able to handle both their hotel room accommodations and banquet space requirements. Working in different hotel departments has allowed me to better meet my client’s needs.”A passion for traveling is something that has been instilled in Julia at a young age. Having been fortunate to see some of the world has broadened her perspective on society, culture and the like. This is one of the many reasons she enjoys meeting people. Every function is seen as an exciting adventure to try something new, while pulling from previous endeavors successes and failures.At home, she spends time with family and pets watching shows, trying new dishes and enjoying each other’s company.
