The 55 Club is a place for hard of hearing and profoundly D/deaf people to meet in a safe non threatening environment and, as the name intimates, it is for people over the age of 55. In the run up to lunch people catch up with friends or take the opportunity to make new friends. At 12 noon we serve a freshly cooked two course meal. We are happy to adapt or change what is being served in order to cater for specific dietary needs or religious observances but we would appreciate advance notice of this. After lunch there is a time to relax and enjoy a game of dominoes or simply chat with others. Every month there is bingo and at least three times a year the 55 Club committee arrange special outings to the seaside or places of interest. Throughout the year there are invited speakers to talk on various health and lifestyle topics. These sessions are voiced over for hard of hearing people and BSL interpreted for D/deaf people as appropriate..
