Bevan and I went up to Rockville to crash the BTCEB Gala Ride. There had been some rain overnight, but the morning was gorgeous, really perfect MUni weather. Conditions were pretty perfect, and we messed around in the quarry for a while as both of us got lines we hadn't hit before. Our friend Paco who we rode with in Fruita, CO last year put together a video of the trip and forwarded it on to us this week. It reminds us that Fruita is gorgeous riding. I need to stop whinging on lines so often, and for Dragon: Ouch. We showed up in force at Pedalfest again this year, running an all-day Learn to Ride workshop (got two new riders! And more to come), and having two sessions on the stage where we demonstrated various one-wheeled contraptions. Josh is moving to Portland, in case you were wondering if it's done as a place for hipsters. [Yes.] We got some time to head out on a ride before he takes off next month, and he wanted to hit the river bed in Dimond Canyon. Jenni Rinker, world-famous member of the KH Factory Team and the IUF Board, is in town from Denmark for a couple of weeks for a wedding, and we had to take her out to show her some of the awesomeness of California. And this time of year, Napa Skyline is about as awesome as it gets, green and inviting, with gorgeous flowers everywhere and still a hint of a cool breeze. For our second ride of the weekend we headed out to our favorite collection of rocks in Rockville Hills Park, which had been closed because of damage from the heavy rains. It turned out to be a very session-oriented ride; we spent over an hour in the quarry, working on the traverse, the chutes, and a couple of impressive lines from the very top.
