Skip to content World Quaker Day is an annual event where we celebrate the diversity of Quakerism around the world and build connections to make our community stronger.
World Quaker Day will take place on Sunday 1 October 2023. The theme will be ‘Living the spirit of Ubuntu: Responding with hope to God’s call to cherish creation – and one another’. This is also the theme of the next World Plenary Meeting which is taking place in South Africa and online in August 2024.

World Quaker Day 2022 took place on 2 October with the theme Becoming the Quakers the World Needs. Every Friends Church and Quaker Meeting was encouraged to send or receive visitors to or from another Quaker group, to bring greetings, build relationships and share ideas.
Quaker groups in Australia, England, Bolivia, Kenya, Canada, Finland, the USA and Northern Ireland all welcomed online visitors from elsewhere to programmed, semi-programmed and unprogrammed forms of worship.

Whatever you choose to do as a worshiping community, we hope you will share it with others. It can be very simple – a description, a poem, a short video from a mobile phone, a few photos – we will post them on this website so that you can see what other churches and meetings were doing on the same day.
