2020 news

Brian entered his 13th year of his radio show/podcast, the Paranormal News Insider in 2020. The show can be heard on Tuesday nights at 8 PM eastern live on the Paranormal King Radio Network He is looking forward to a small number of events to attend in 2020 as well as working on some new books that will hopefully take his work in a whole new direction.

A look back at 2019...

The third Pennsylvania Bigfoot Camping Adventure will take place May 31 through June 2, 2019, at Benner's Meadow Run Campground in Farmington, Pennsylvania. There will be 12 1/2 speakers (Jay Bachochin will present with his son Blake) and there will be a number of celebrities on hand as well. Join the guys from the television show Mountain Monsters as well as Ken Gerhard, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Bill Brock, Cliff Barackman of Finding Bigfoot, Stacy Brown, Jr., as well as other guests who will be providing workshops. Join researchers for day and night hikes in the area as well as the campground to get the kids involved as well as for adults to understand what we are looking for outside of beating trees with sticks and howling in the woods.

A look back at 2018...

Dr. Brian presented the Twinsburg Paranormal Conference on February 17, 2018, in Twinsburg, Ohio (between Cleveland and Akron). With seven seasoned investigators and researchers in the "big three" paranormal fields (UFO, cryptid, ghosts) the event turned out to be a very informative and educational event. While Brian has assisted and worked at a number of different types of events over the years this was the first one he created and headed and it turned out to be a success for all those who attended.

The conference was featured in the local monthly magazine known as the Twinsburg Tribune for its February edition. It's quite the honor to be given the cover of the magazine for this upcoming event!

2018 was a nice year for appearances for Brian as he visited multiple libraries in Ohio as well as conferences in Ohio and Pennsylvania. While he has his own radio show, the Paranormal News Insider, he enjoys being on "the other side" of the mic with appearances on other shows. This year he was a guest on the Crypto Kid Radio Show, Grave Talks, the After Hours AM/America's Most Haunted radio show, Piercing the Veil with Kristi and Laura Ann, and the Paranormal King Radio show. He's already started to fill up a calendar for 2019.

A look back at 2017...

New book release!

The Handbook for the Amateur UFO Investigator explores the historical and cultural side of UFOs as it ties into our current beliefs in UFO and related experiences through books, radio, television show, and movies. From there it pulls back the curtain to reveal some of the logical explanations behind an overwhelming majority of UFO sightings. This book provides a balanced view of Unidentified Flying Objects and attempts to arm the reader with a skeptical mind and an eye for detail. A thorough interviewing methodology, basic investigation and research methods, as well as a variety of additional resources will help get you started on your way to becoming a successful UFO researcher and investigator.

Brian will be appearing at the Enigmacons inaugural event at the St. Albans Sanatorium in Radford, Virginia on May 19-20, 2017. He will be covering the topic of cryptozoology basics of research with a focus on the state of Virginia. Brian is also excited to be speaking at the Kecksburg UFO Festival in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. This event is home to the purported crash of a UFO in 1965 and is one of the most controversial UFO crash stories next to Roswell. This event is very busy and is like nothing you will experience at paranormal conferences and conventions! Brian has also agreed to appear at the 5th Annual Strange Encounters of Pennsylvania event in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. This will be his second consecutive appearance at this event.

Brian will be appearing at the second Pennsylvania Bigfoot Camping Adventure on May 5-7, 2017, in Farmington, Pennsylvania at the Benner's Meadow Run Campgrounds. The event hosts several speakers during the day and will also have workshops designed to teach you specific things about cryptozoology and Bigfoot research. We will also take people out on day and night hikes to get a feel for how Bigfoot field investigations are conducted. You will need to purchase an event ticket as well as accommodations at either the campground or a local motel. The event is hosted by long time researcher and investigator Eric Altman. Returning as speakers will be Steve Kulls and Stan Gordon. Also appearing this year are Ronald Murphy, Jay Bachochin, and Rosemary Ellen Guiley. A look back at 2016...

Brian appeared in the fourth issue (November 2016) of Cryptid Culture magazine. Brian's article pertains to the historical and recent events surrounding the Loveland Frog story from Loveland, Ohio.

Brian returned to the Westerville Public Library in October with his EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR with a ghost presentation. Brian appeared LIVE on Squatchdetective Radio with host Steve Kulls on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Brian was a speaker at the 4th Annual Strange Encounters of Pennsylvania event on August 20, 2016, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. On May 12, 2016, Brian spoke at the Westerville Public Library with a presentation on cryptozoology based on the Butler and PA Bigfoot Camping Adventure.

Brian spoke at the 2016 Pennsylvania Bigfoot Camping Adventure hosted by Eric Altman. Stan Gordon and Steve Kulls from Sasquatch Detective Radio also spoke on Saturday during the event. The weekend also hosted workshops, day and night hikes in known sighting areas, and much more. It has also been announced that the event will return next year and Brian will be speaking again! Enjoy a great video from 2016 with plenty of the speakers with music played by Walter Shrum who was on hand singing his Bigfoot songs.

Brian was a speaker at the 9th Annual Butler Paranormal Conference in Butler, Pennsylvania on April 16, 2016. He was one of five speakers at the Saturday event. Other speakers included; Thomas White, Ronald Murphy, Brett McGinnis, and Stan Gordon. The Butler Paranormal Conference is put on by the Butler Organization for Research of the Unexplained B.O.R.U., and Center for Unexplained Events C.U.E. Dr. Brian joined host Frank Lee on the Paranormalities and Ponderings radio show on WCJV Digital Broadcasting on January 26, 2016 and again on February 16, 2016. During the shows we discussed how to properly apply science to paranormal research, how to validate data and how to debunk hoaxes and a lot of other topics. He was also a guest back on July 21, 2015 and he also appeared on the show on February 3, 2015.

A look back at 2015...

Dr. Brian D. Parsons is now moving the Paranormal News Insider to its own home for a one hour live show. The Paranormal News Insider will now be heard LIVE on the CJMARS radio network on WCJV digital broadcasting from Youngstown, New York.

The show makes its debut on Tuesday, September 8 from 7-8 PM eastern and will be heard every Tuesday night. The archives of the show will still be put on the web site. This will be a great new chapter in the show's history with 230 episodes already in the can. Listeners can interact live during the show in the chat room while listening to the show.

Mass Mysteria took place June 13, 2015, in King City, Ontario, Canada. This event was a benefit for John Mizzi, a fellow paranormal investigator and EVP specialist who is battling cancer for the second time. This event was a wonderful time and reached its goal of helping John. While the ghost walk did not happen, John sabol and I jumped in to provide a Ghost Excavation of the historical train station and church that were transferred to the grounds of the King Township Museum.

The lineup of speakers included Nick Redfern, Robin Bellamy, Richard Dolan, John Sabol, Christopher Laursen, Joanna Emerson, and myself. Ghosts, cryptids, UFOs, crop cirlces, and more!

"Handbook for the Amateur Cryptozoologist" is being re-released! A Second Edition has been published on March 22, 2015, that includes a foreword by one of the world's leading cryptozoologists, Loren Coleman. The book will also be on sale at the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine. Loren Coleman has been involved in cryptozoology since 1960 and has written several of the most influential books on the subject. He is a media consultant on the subject and has appeared on numerous television shows involving hidden or mysterious creatures, has written hundreds or articles, and is the director of the International Cryptozoology Museum. The Second Edition is currently only available at Lulu.com, but will eventually work its way to Amazon and other online retailers. Click on the book to order today!

Dr. Brian started off the new year as a guest/co-host on the Grand Dark Conspiracy (now known as Darkest Hours Late Night) for two nights in a row! On Thursday, January 1, 2015, Brian was the guest on the show discussing the top paranormal news stories for 2014. The next night, Friday night (technically Saturday morning), Brian returned to the show for a round table discussion with the host, Dan Bautz and fellow co-host, Dave Considine. The round table was a lot of fun and a lot of ground was covered. However, we didn't even touch the surface of the ghost field. The paranormal round table will continue on February 6, 2015; stay tuned.

A look back at 2014...

Dr. Brian returned to the Westerville Public Library in Westerville, Ohio on October 27, 2014. This was the sixth consecutive year speaking at this library. It was a great time and it was a wonderful crowd! After the show, Brian appeared on the Grand Dark Conspiracy radio show and will be live in the WQTT 1270 A.M. studios in Marysville, Ohio. Brian appeared in the seventh issue of "Beyond Parazine", a paranormal web-based magazine that is based in the United Kingdom. The issue was released in October, 2014, and this magazine is a major sponsor for Paracon UK that takes place on November 22nd and 23rd in which John Sabol will be presenting. The article in which Brian appeared served as a "who's who" for the "Ghost Excavation" team lead by John Sabol and Mary Becker.

Brian appeared on the Grand Dark Conspiracy on August 4, 2014. This episode was the re-launch of the Grand Dark Conspiracy on its new home of WQTT AM 1270 based in Marysville, Ohio. Brian also brought back the Paranormal News Insider (which will appear every Tuesday night) and will join host Dan Bautz as a regular co-host along with Dave Considine. Brian was the first guest on the Grand Dark Conspiracy back in early 2008 and was honored and humbled to be the first guest with the new format after so many wonderful guests.

My latest book, "Handbook for the Amateur Cryptozoologist", appears in the New and Notable section of the July/August 2014 edition of the Skeptical Inquirer. Skeptical Inquirer? Yes, to have a book based on cryptozoology to be accepted by the leading skeptical organization is a huge honor and proves that my work is truly balanced. It would be far too easy to have others in the cryptid field give their stamp of approval for a book like this, but to appeal to true science and balanced-minded thinking was the goal with this book.

In December the book was featured in an article written by cryptozoologist and author Loren Coleman for The Best Cryptozoology Books of 2014 as the "The Best Guidebook for The Cryptozoologist-In-Training of 2014." It's a huge honor to be recognized by a living legend of the field of cryptozoology for my work.

A look back at 2013...

Brian is proud to announce he has received his PhD in Metaphysical Science from the Institute of Metaphysical Humanistic Science. He also obtained his master's and bachelor's in Metaphysical Humanistic Science from this excellent school. He graduated summa cum laude for all three levels and earned the school's most prestigious award, the Akasha Scholars Award, for his ground-breaking work in the paranormal.

2013 was an exciting year for me. I participated in the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society's spring expedition in southwest Pennsylvania (see blog link for more info). It was a great time and I enjoyed camping, hiking, as well as the new people I was able to meet. I was very impressed with the approach of the PBS from their investigation methods to their beliefs. I believe in what they do so much that I have decided to become a member of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society and bring my skills to their table. I am excited to work with this group and I hope to add to their growing database of potential evidence through research, expeditions, and individual case reports.

2013 was a great year for getting out and meeting the public. I was able to speak at the VAParaquest in Virginia as well as the Second Forensic Ghost Excavation Convention in Pennsylvania. I was able to speak in a college atmosphere at two separate campus locations for Cleveland Community College with the subject of cryptozoology. It was a lot of fun to be a "professor" for a day! It was also exciting to celebrate my FIFTH consecutive year speaking at the Westerville Public Library just northeast of Columbus. This is the only library that has my books in it (so far) and always has a wonderful audience. While I made no effort to do so, I was able to speak on five different podcasts this year and will be doing more radio appearances next year for sure.

The biggest highlight of 2013 for me was finally releasing information on the "E4" Method in print. The new book has been a great addition to the "E4" Method tour that consisted of three conventions, multiple radio shows (including England) and several local speaking engagements.
