THE PROGRAMME IS STRUCTURED TO REFLECT THE ISSUES DEBATED AT THE COP26 IN GLASGOW KEYNOTE SPEECH: Rick Fedrizzi, Executive Chairman International WELL Building Institute (IWBI)Rick Fedrizzi, as afigure who has been at the forefront of the sustainable construction sector for many years at institutions such as USGBC, WGBC and IWBI, will bring aunique perspective on the evolution of green building sector from its beginnings and across the continents up to the current challenges we face today, especially in challenges in light of the recent COP 26 conference. Rick Fedrizzi sees Green Construction as an economic and business opportunity that can save our planet. ZERO CARBON
The first block will outline the issue of carbon neutrality and how it can be achieved. The approach to the Green Deal and the path to fulfilling carbon neutrality will be presented by Benoit Bazin, CEO of Saint-Gobain. The block will be complemented by Paul King, Managing Director Of Sustainability & Social Impact Lendlease Europe, who will present the company Roadmap to absolute zero carbon. ADAPTION AND RESILIENCE
Speakers in this block will present specific examples of good practice on how buildings must react and adapt to the new challenges of climate change. Jan Baxa, Head of Asset Management, CA IMMO will speak about the importance of renovation of existing buildings to meet the new sustainability requirements. About green roofs in the urban environment and its successes in helping cities adapt to the climate and deliver for the biodiversity crisis will speak Dusty Gedge, President of the European Federation of Green Roof and Living Wall. FINANCING
Financing of the green solutions plays avery important process in accelerating and driving the change towards sustainability. Jan Tomaštík, Director EU Centre, ČSOB will introduce the financial instruments and impact of the new taxonomy and banking regulation on project financing. Funding the development of the industrial buildings through green bonds will be presented by Jan-Evert Post, Managing Director, Head of Funding & Investor Relations, CTP. WORKING TOGETHER
The fourth block will focus on the importance of cooperation between the public and private sector. Stefan Moser, EC, Head of Unit ENER. B3 "Buildings and Products, will present the EC visions of implementing the Green Deal in the construction sector. An example of good practice in awarding aunique public contract with the principles of reducing the carbon footprint and circular economy Temporary Court House in Amsterdam will be presented by Menno Rubbens, architect and director at cepezedprojects, Arend van de Beek, Lagemaat and Central Government Real Estate Agency.
